1 Borneo Hotel @ Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
We checked into the 1 Borneo Hotel (formerly known as Novotel Kota Kinabalu Hotel under management of Accor and now changed to Klagan Regency) when we reached Kota Kinabalu. We tried to find the hotel parking but to our dismay it didn’t have any allocation for inhouse guests. We have to park our car at the limited parking lot outside the hotel. Hotel is adjacent to 1Borneo shopping mall, unfortunately there is nothing much to shop about.
Located quite far from the city and about 30mins from the airport, the location is not really great for leisure or business trip.

Our Superior Room was decent, dressed in soothing subtle wooden tone with wooden flooring and equipped with a comfy king size bed.
Working desk and flat screen TV. Free WIFI is provided but the signal was a bit weak.
Amenities such as iron and board, electronic safe, coffee and tea making facilities and complimentary drinking water are provided.
The bathroom – fret not for the see-through window as you can put down the blind anytime if you don’t want to be seen ^__*
Bath tub with hand shower.
The bathroom was clean and completed with basic bathroom amenities such as shower gel and shampoo as well as hair dryer.
The swimming pool area with both adult and kid pool look good however the maintenance of the pool need to be improved though.
Breakfast was at the Square Restaurant, the variety isn’t much with limited choices of local and western cuisine such as typical sausage, eggs, baked beans, nasi lemak, porridge, cereals, bread and pastries.
Other facilities such as computers corner and family/kid’s play room available at the lobby area.
Verdict: A really average hotel in my book, will consider a more convenient location for my net KK trip.

Happy New Year!
Have been there before but did not stay. Just lalu only. LOL
that’s a nice hotel, cosy and comfortable it looks..
But I’ve read some reviews from Tripadvisor recently mentioned that the current management not so good dy 🙁
Room looks kinda simple but clean!
Never been to Sabah before, heard it’s a beautiful place!
Their beach and island are great, I went a few years back but didn’t blog 😛
The pool looks small though… it seems like someone has been travelling a lot lately eh?
Not too big and this trip was on CNY, very back log one LOL
Looks interesting… your girl looks happy in the kiddie playroom! 😀
she is happy as long as can play, I hope she can apply this “passion” into her study though =.=”
The bed or rather mattress look rather uneven. Is it comfy?
What can I say is not the most comfortable I’ve tried 😛
i like the high wall at the lobby waiting area, with the traditional design deco 🙂
Simple but with Sabah’s native influences decor~
I like how everyone’s blurred out ala google map streetview style.
Privacy mah, aiyo LOL
Happy New Year to you and family, Choi Yen 😀
Happy 2016 to you & your family too Merryn 🙂
