Tsui Wah Restaurant @ Hong Kong

Our lunch after the Big Bus Tour on our 3rd day at Hong Kong on Green Line Route was settled at Tsui Wah Restaurant, Wellington Street, Central.

Tsui Wah Restaurant is a chain of “cha chan teng” with more than 25 outlets spread across Hong Kong, Macau and China. With vast array of food ranging from typical “cha chan teng” food, Indian or Malaysian curry, Japanese udon and Western food; Tsui Wah Restaurant has become one of the popular neighborhood eatery at Hong Kong.

Vast media coverage and some awards spotted on the walls.

Despite being after lunch hours (circa 3pm) , the place was crowded and noisy. We were ushered to upstairs and seated at one of the booth seat.

Decision making was a tough task here due to the extensive menu however hubby was attracted with one of the poster showing this!

Vermicelli with Kagoshima Pork Cartilage & Spinach Shrimp Dumpling (HKD 49.00 / set)

Being an avid fan of porcine dishes, Hong Kong definitely a heaven for hubby! The humongous Kagoshima pork was braised till soft with some chewy cartilage attached while the dumpling was decent with adequately filled with minced meat, spinach and shrimp. The cloudy soup worth a mention too as it was richly laced with robust flavors which I guess is from the Kagoshima Pork Cartilage.

Coffee / Tea in the set. (PS: Cold drink with extra charge of HKD 3.00)

Penne with Beef in Tomato Soup (HKD 39.00)

I wanted something light so I had this soupy penne with sliced beef and fried egg. The penne was slightly too soft for my liking and the egg yolk was too raw >.< However the sliced beef was tender and I have no complaint to the tomato broth too, very appetizing indeed.

Being one of the popular chain restaurants at Hong Kong, my dining experience here was fairly satisfy with its prompt service and good food. Not to mention that most of the branches are opened 24 hours.
