Antipodean @ Menara Tan & Tan

Still remember the breakfast series I did a few months ago? Recently I manage to accumulate a list of places to give you guys more choices to kick start off your day with a heart breakfast, so stay tune!

Antipodean, a Aussie/New Zealand style cafe that extremely popular for their breakfast and brunch menu. Simply Google online you will get numerous reviews about this restaurant which has straddling across Asia with a total of 5 cafes in Australia, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Their signature huge walled chalkboard menu greeted us once we stepped into the cafe. Very extensive menu of food and beverages especially the choices of coffee are pretty impressive.

We skipped the Bangsar branch as I knew that place is always full and the long waiting time definitely a no no for us who tag along a impatient 3 years old kid >.< The restaurant has adopted a cozy darkish theme with dark brown furniture and striking red walls.

Antipodean prides itself  on using quality coffee beans roasted by Indonesia’s top specialty roaster, Merdeka Coffee.

Some pastries and cookies on display.

Spotted a coffee bean grinder(?), can someone enlighten me?

Sam found her favourite spot here! Equipped with plenty of toys and TV showing some cartoons.

Affogato (RM 10.00+)

Strong and bitter taste of the espresso sweeten by the Vanilla ice-cream, a great contrast to be indulged in pleasure.

All Day Breakfast (RM 19.00+)

Consisted of toast, chicken, beef or pork sausages, baked beans, scrambled eggs & grilled tomatoes.

The big serving of scrambled eggs were done nicely; velvety yet texturised with pleasant buttery whiff.

Grilled Chicken with Tomato (RM 18.00+)

I had this grilled chicken fillet which only available after 11.00am.  Lying on bed of blanched French beans and tomatoes, the chicken fillets were coarse, dry and bland but luckily the Balsamic vinaigrette dressing had compensated the overall flavor. Seem like I made a wrong decision >.< (A good excuse to revisit again?)

Look, Sam made new friends here!

Antipodean is a great place to chill out during weekends for brunch, and I certainly don’t mind to come again to try the rest on their menu considering my food of choice was quite a letdown this time. Any suggestions on what to order for my next visit?
