Bowery Petit @ TTDI, KL
Bowery Petit, a neighbourhood cafe nestled in suburbs of Taman Dun Dr. Ismail, KL. As the name suggests, the cafe is inspired by the a section of lower Manhattan in New York City.
It is a rather small space which can be easily occupied with 20+ patrons. The setting is pretty simple, a row of seats along the walls facing the pastries and baked goods display counter as well as the pizza bar and kitchen at the back of the shop. The interior is clean overall yet not lack of details such as stylish lighting, ceiling with wooden details and also the silhouette of the Big Apple’s skyline features on the wall.
Bowery Petit’s tempting display of pastries and baked goods ranging from cakes, cupcakes, macarons, cake pops, pies, tarts and muffins.
The enticing desserts are calling me and the sweet monster in me begging for a sweet moment. Decision decision…… we stood here for a good few minutes to decide which to go for. >_<
More breads and pastries such as danishes, bagels (check out the rainbow bagels!), buns, rolls, energy balls, jams and black olive tapenade.
Freshly hand crafted New York-style thin crust pizzas also another feature here. Sold by slice or a whole 22 inch in a few varieties such as their signature Bowery Torch (slow roasted beef ribs with BBQ sauce), Mediterranean, Pepperone, Margherita, and etc. Cannot decide between two flavors? Go for half and half with any of the flavors.
The menu also offers breakfast & brunch (8-11am for weekdays, 8am-1pm for weekends), sandwiches, salads, gourmet pies and quiches, bagel sandwiches as well as beef, seafood, lamb and poultry dishes.
Peanut Butter Brownie Milkshakes (RM14.80) & Flat White (RM10.80)
The rustic thin crust base with scorches of crispy edges topped with tomato slices dressed with basil pesto and of course the luscious melted cheese. Flavors were bold and simple at its best.
Mediterranean Veggie Wrap (RM24.80)
Toasted wrap filled with roasted assorted vegetables tossed with basil pesto, avocado cream and cheddar. Served along side were mesclun salad and generous portion of sweet potato fries. Not bad for a meatless or health-conscious option.
Madame Bowery (RM22.80)
3 piece of brioche layered with turkey ham, bechamel sauce and crowned with beautifully done poached egg. A combination that can’t go wrong and it was very filling as well as the brioche were rather thick.
Mac & Cheese (RM28.80)
Albeit it was strangely served with a Chinese style claypot, this hearty portion of Mac & Cheese was indeed quite satisfying. Covered with sufficient amount of Mornay cheese sauce, studded with chicken bacon and baby green peas. Ti’s recommended to savor it while hot or else it can be quite dry when the sauce is thicken.
Key Lime Pie (RM8.80)
It was a treat for both eyes and mouth. The key lime pie was nicely presented and I absolutely love the combination flavors of tartness and sweetness of the filling.
Paris Brest (RM7.80)
To be honest, I forgot the taste of this, sorry 😛
Heard that their frozen custard in variety of flavors are worth a try, next visit perhaps.
Verdict: Food was above average but this place always packed especially on weekends. I’m thinking to bring Sam here because she love Mac & Cheese and not many places offer it. Do let me know if you have any recommendations ya!
