There are four different sets are available this year priced from RM 988.00++ to RM 2,288.00++ and each set menu is paired with wine or liquor to jazz up the occasion. We was treated with “Golden” set menu priced at RM 1,388.00++ that day.
Salmon Yee Sang
The colourful platter consisted of julienned pickled vegetables, ginger, crushed peanut and crackers.
Fresh sliced salmon.
We started off with the mandatory dish of Salmon Yee Sang, the lovely balance of flavors & textures is something unique that we only can get when Chinese New Year 🙂
Salmon Yee Sang is priced at RM 58.00++, RM 78.00++ & RM 98.00++ for a la carte order.
Double Boiled Seafood Soup with Ginseng
Bowls of goodness ready to be savored.
Look at my bowl of soup laden bountifully with Ginseng, fish maw, mushroom, sea asparagus and many other herbals surely a sight to behold. Every spoonful was brimmed with aromatic ocean flavor and soothing herbal taste.
Oven Roasted “Pei Pah” Duck
The roasted duck had nice glossy dark amber sheen. The glistening skin was crispy and the meat was tender and beneath it lies the sweet sauce.
Steamed Camouflage Grouper with Snow Fungus and Superior Soya Sauce
The fish was steamed with snow fungus, dried Daylily and sliced mushroom which added a pleasant crunchy texture to the dish. Flavors were good however I personally thought the fish was a bit overcooked. The freshness of the fish did make up for the cooking part and the superior soya sauce is very aromatic.
Deep Fried Prawn with Wasabi Mayo Dressing
This proved to be a crowd pleaser, sizable prawns were lightly battered then deep fried and dressed with wasabi mayonnaise. The wasabi flavor was slightly strong but in a good way that liven up the fried prawns beautifully.
Wok Fried Four Seasons Vegetables with Slice Abalone
Another iconic dish when come to Chinese New Year represents abundance of treasure.
Braised Hong Kong Yee Foo Noodle with Crab Meat
The noodle was well braised, texture and flavors wise. What I like most was generous amount of the fresh crab meat, coupled with bean sprout and green dragon vegetable; simple but commendable.
Warm Fragrant Pear and Aloe Vera in Longan Syrup
The dessert was a simple but soothing Warm Fragrant Pear and Aloe Vera in Longan Syrup.
Deep Fried Nien Kow with Yam and Sweet Potato
In perfectly golden hue and plump in size.
The Nien Kow was sandwiched between yam and sweet potato was decent but the minor gripe was that the Nien Kow should be thicker.
