Dining Under the Stars @ Oakwood Hotel & Residence KL
I was honored to join the Berbuka Puasa session with Pertubuhan Kebajikan Al-Firdausi last week at trEat Restaurant & Bar, Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur last week. This is one of the hotel’s CSR project which express their concern as well as support to the underprivileged group in our community.
Duit Raya distribution ceremony.
There was also mesmerizing live band performance throughout our dinner that evening. Live band performance with be available on every Friday and Saturday nights.
Interior of trEat Restaurant & Bar ~ The place is brightly lit and spacious with huge glass panels overlooking the swimming pool which receive great illumination of natural light. Themed with a soothing white and light wood tone, with a mixture of bright colour on the furniture.

The room type offered ranging from Deluxe rooms to two bedroom apartments, all units are fully serviced with housekeeping, and apartment units are fully equipped with western-style kitchens. My foodie sense was immediately triggered by this enticing looking roasted whole lamb once I stepped out the restaurant to check out the swimming pool. The lamb with a glistening amber skin was in all its shining glory and the flavours was equally tantalizing. Chef Addy Dzulfadzly Abdullah’s Percik sauce went really well with the meat, a must try!
Assorted Kerabu, Acar, Ulam-ulam with various of Sambal such as Sambal Budu, Sambal Kicap Pedas and Sambal Cincaluk to whet your appetite.
Seafood on ice.
Hot dishes selection, the Siput Sedut definitely one of the most special dish I’ve seen in the buffet spread. The menus are rotated nightly so that diners can sample different items.
Assorted of keropok.
Roti John, anyone?
The Kambing Bubur Lambuk with condiments was good!
Chicken and beef Satay with ketupat, lemang and serunding were crowd pleaser in any Ramadan buffet. They were polished off in a jiffy but the hotel staff replenished the food frequently.
Diners can custom cook your Asam Laksa at the noodle station.
Cook to order pasta at the live pasta station.
The dessert selection did not come with wide selection but good enough to satiated my sweet tooth.
The fruit “stall” on the other hand offers not only the usual fresh cut fruits such as watermelon, papaya, pineapple and honeydew but also Longan and Laici which I had a few helpings 😛
How about an icy treat of Durian and Pineapple Tart ice cream to put an endnote to the dinner?
Priced at RM77+ per adult and RM39+ per child, the Dinibg Under the Stars buffet dinner is available from 29th May until 24th June, from 6.30pm to 10.30pm.
