Ee Ping Steamboat Restaurant @ Genting Permai Avenue
It’s getting HOT in here…And it’s going to stay that way for a while. I think no one would dream of having hot pot/steamboat when it’s steaming out. But it’s definitely a different story when you’re at a place with more cooling temperature, a locale nearby the mountain top.
I finally paid Genting Premium Outlets a visit after its opening one year ago (very outdated I know >_<) and hubby suggested we’d try out the steamboat restaurant recommended by our neighbour which is located within the vicinity.
Ee Ping Steamboat Restaurant nestled in Genting Permai Avenue is a commercial area located just a short distance away from the Genting Premium Outlets, Gohtong Jaya and Genting Strawberry Leisure Farm. We saw quite few eateries here with majority are Chinese food restaurants and a Starbucks cafe as well (in the petrol station nearby the restaurant).
There are both semi-indoor and outdoor seats and we opted to dine in at roadside since the weather was good and breezy.
They offer not only steamboat but also some noodle dishes such as Lala/Crab Meehoon and assorted seafood dishes including Baked Crab, Red Wine Steamed Lala, Fried Shrimps, Fried Pomfret and Fish Cakes, just to name a few.
Clear Soup + Tom Yum Set (RM19.80 / pax)
Portion wise, the set came with pretty standard steamboat ingredients of Yee Mee, vermicelli, 2 eggs, meat balls (both fish and pork), 2 prawns, fish fillets, dumplings, bean curd, bean curd sheets and pile of vegetables.
The had dual soup base of clear soup and Tom Yum, the former was nothing to shout about and the latter didn’t turn out to be the flavour that I was expecting. The broth was spicy but the distinctive sourness was almost non-existent, I wound’t say this is a Tom Yum soup. =.=”
Sliced Pork (RM18.50) & Quail Eggs (RM8.00)
Verdict: Our steamboat meal was decent, portion and price was nothing much different with what we usually had at our area (Kepong). The cooling weather certainly a bonus especially for steamboat but it this enough to convince me for revisit?

Angelina, hope you enjoy the steamboat here~
Nothing like having steamboat in cool surroundings! 😉 I like how thinly sliced and not too fatty the pork was.
Kris, always my first choice if I want to add on ingredient~
Certainly the best temperature for steamboat isn’t it?
KY, exactly!
Oh no, it didn’t taste like Tom Yum and it could be just a spicy soup.
TM, hmm….. you can say so~~
i haven’t been to the genting premium outlets, so i’m even MORE outdated! 😀
