Epic Fit Meals Co @ Metropolitan Square, P.J
As a working mother I always try my best to prepare dinner for my family everyday as we are “forced to” eat out when working or schooling. I’m not saying that eat out is not good, just that we most probably will consume MSG and sodium laden food. However when the lazy bugs attack, take away dinner will appeared on my dining table too, occasionally 😛
So when an invitation from Epic Fit Meals Co (EFMC) knock my door, I was more than happy to check out their healthy food delivery.
Arrived at EFMC located at Metropolitan Square, Petaling Jaya, the place was totally empty. According to Wick Kee, the Co-Founder of EFMC, this is quite normal as majority of their clients make order via telephone call or whatsApp, only some are walk-in.
The shop is furnished with simple tables and stools too if you choose to dine in.
How they work?
As a new kid on the block, EFMC practices a pretty new concept which is quite different with the existing healthy food deliveries. Basically, healthy food deliveries business is running in a few ways such as subscription-based, pre-order and some are offer limited meals a week. Here at EFMC, all you need to do is just make a call anytime (of course must be within their operating hours) and order, sit back and your food will arrive to your doorstep within 45 minutes. The concept is similar with McDonald’s or Domino but what you get is a more wholesome meal if compare with the aforementioned.
Please refer to the above menu for a clearer image on what’s I’m going to elaborate further regarding their food.
Chicken Combo 2 (“Fried” Chicken + Sauce + 1 side + 1 EPIC side) (RM 21.00)
EPIC “Fried” Chicken Schnitzel with Country Gravy + Irish Colcannon + Frugertii
Don’t be fooled by the word “fried”! All the food here are not involving any frying process not even air frying. The marinated chicken breast is breaded in special blend of spices and herbs, then oven-baked to perfect golden brown. The breaded coating was crunchy resemble the fried version minus the greasiness, that’s sound great right? What make this even awesome is you can choose your prefer pairing EPIC sauce to go with your EPIC Chicken. I had the Country Gravy which tasted very fabulous and flavorful, I’m so doubt about their promise of “No MSG” in all their food. Fret not, all their sauces are made from scratch using chicken and vegetable stock rendering a bursting of flavors. The chicken breast meat on the other hand was not dry or coarse like I would expected to be.
The side of Irish Colcannon is a traditional Irish dish resemble mashed potato. It has a pleasant creamy texture with bits of shredded cabbage and leek, paired nicely with the house made brown sauce.
