es.sense kitchen @ Holiday Inn Melaka
After a short nap in our room we proceeded to Holiday Inn Melaka in house cafe ~ es.sense kitchen to have our late lunch as our tummies were growling because our previous meal was at KL which was approximately 7 hours ago >_<
The restaurant was minimalistic with straight forward, wooden furniture. There are glass panel windows which allow plenty of natural light flowing in.
A more private section with special partition at the end of the restaurant.
There is also ample outdoor seating with sweeping views over the Straits of Melaka for those who prefer al-fresco dining.
Let’s check out the hi-tea buffet spread!
Salad bar
Appetizers/starters
Minestrone
The spread was fairly decent and what excited me the most definitely the BBQ grill station set at the balcony of the restaurant. The selection might not be the widest I’ve seen but pleasant smoky aroma was enough to make you drooling over the food on the grill 😛
Malaysian’s favourite food ~ satay. I prefer the chicken skewer which were more tender than the beef & lamb version.
Don’t miss the otak-otak, it tasted fabulous!
Some freshly from the wok such as fried sweet potato, fried yam and keropok lekor.
The mains
Fried radish cake which is quite decent too with adequately of wok hei.
Assorted sandwiches
Popcorn for the little one, freshly made from the popcorn maker 🙂
DIY gado-gado
The dessert spread in a buffet is my most concern section (yes, I have utterly sweet tooth but doctor did warned me about my blood glucose level =.=”)
Kids’ favorite chocolate fountain with condiments, I’ve lost count how many times Sam pestered me for the marshmallow ^__*
Cakes, pastries and some Nyonya kuih.
Of course don’t forgot the fruits intake!
Beverage station.
After the satisfying lunch, we heading back to our room (again?) to have more rest as the weather was too hot out there for any outing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our room came with a complimentary breakfast, so we headed back to es.sense kitchen the next morning after a good night sleep at our comfortable room~~
The energy boost up drink for hubby 😛
My rainbow boost up juices 😛
Bread lovers will definitely glee with joy if they saw the fabulous selection of breads here!
Muffins and kuih-muih.
I can simply consoled by this half boiled egg in pure contentment!
The tea eggs were surprisingly appeared in the breakfast buffet spread too!
A must have for me whenever I had breakfast buffet is the porridge with my favourite condiments such as pickled vegetable, canned dace fish, salted egg, braised peanuts and many more *greedy mode ON*
Cereals
Nasi Lemak
Curry laksa for a more substantial breakfast.
Cheese platter and salad
Wide variety of breakfast
Yin yong tau foo fa (original & pandan flavors)
Verdict: Both meal at es-sense kitchen was a pleasant experience and definitely not a bad choice at all if you feel like lazy to go out for food hunting or deterred by the scorching weather just like us 😛
