Eyuzu Japanese Cuisine @ Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya
My last visit to Eyuzu for its Shumatsu Buffet was a memorable experience and recently I went back to try their ala carte menu which showcases some of the chef’s recommendations.
We were seated at the tastefully decorated private room with cute cylinder aquariums placed on the long dining table.
Sashimi and Maki Sushi
(From RM 95.00++ for Sashimi and RM 40.00++ for Eyuzu Maki)
For me sashimi is a benchmark to rate a Japanese restaurant and Eyuzu’s definitely passed with flying colours! The fresh sliced tuna, salmon, sea bass and surf clam had firm texture and the natural sweetness from the seafood was so enjoyable~
Tempura
From RM 46.00++ per serving for Ebi Tempura (Prawns)
RM 30.00++ per serving for Kisu Tempura (Silver Whiting)
RM 20.00++ per serving for Yasai Tempura (Assorted Vegetables)
The vegetables and prawn was lightly battered and deep fried, crunchy on the outer while the inner tenderness remained however I wish the prawn can be more bigger in size 😛
Shake Kabuto Jiru (RM 26.00++)
Eyuzu offer an array of different types of soups in their menu and I opted for this Salmon head miso soup. Laden bountifully with chunky Salmon head, tofu, shimeji mushroom, seaweed and spring onions dunk in miso soup, it was such a brilliant tummy warmer on a cold rainy day.
Chawan Mushi (RM 13.00++)
My obligatory order during Japanese food session, I love the silky smooth egg custard which literally melt in my mouth. A simple but classic dish executed with grace and passion!
Unagi Kabayaki and Saba Shioyaki
Saba Shioyaki (RM 30.00++ per serving)
The Saba was fleshy and nicely grilled but slightly bland in flavor, a squeeze of lime to enhance the flavor.
Unagi Kabayaki (RM 55.00++ per serving)
Another favourite of mine, the soft grilled eel dressed with sweet Kabayaki sauce was so scrumptious, I will never get enough of this. Heaven in a bite!
The Trio (Teppanyaki)
A platter of Teppanyaki dishes consisted of Mix Mushroom in Butter Sauce, White Tuna in Garlic-Butter Sauce and Beef Roll with Enoki Mushroom (RM48++)
Choose your food and watch the chef cook it lively in front of you if you don’t mind you smell like Tepanyaki beef after this ~~ 😛
Beef Roll with Enoki Mushroom (RM 48.00++)
Crowned with aromatic fried garlic, the beef roll was moreish & I like this the most if compare with two others.
Mix Mushroom in Butter Sauce (RM 40.00++)
Assorted mushrooms were well cooked in butter sauce, decent but nothing to shout about too.
Grilled White Tuna in Garlic-Butter Sauce (RM 55.00++)
The White Tuna was light in flavor but the garlic butter sauce had jazzed up the overall taste, a truly magic ingredient that creating a burst of flavor!
Seafood Okonomiyaki (RM 20.00++ with choices of topping of Smoked Salmon, Unagi, Chicken, Seafood and Vegetarian)
Okonomiyaki is a Japanese savoury pancake containing a variety of ingredients. The name is derived from the word okonomi, meaning “what you like” or “what you want”, and yaki meaning “grilled” or “cooked”
Okonomiyaki in making….
The pancake is basically made from mixture of flour, water, shredded cabbage, carrot and topped with your choices of topping then prettied up with sweet Okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise and sprinkled with generous amount of bonito flakes and spring onions.
Green Tea Ice Cream with Red Bean Paste (RM 12.00++)
To cap off my meal, I had the perennial favourite green tea ice cream paired with its best companion ~ azuki bean aka red bean. The soft and mushy red bean paste complemented well with the subtle bitterness of the green tea ice cream, a perfect match in heaven indeed!
Now you know where to get a nice Japanese food?
yummy! Eyuzu is certainly a good Japanese spot in town.
Yeah you are right!
