Fruity Cake & Bakery @ Klang
After the satisfying lunch at Top 1 Chicken Rice, we continued our food hunt to Klang Yao Yao Ping & fried chicken for some icy treat. Yao Yao Ping is a type of slush drink with variety of local flavours such as sour plum, red bean, calamansi, sweet corn and etc, is one of the must try food whenever you’re in Klang. Other than the Yao Yao Ping, the restaurant also serves food such as the equally famous fried chicken, wantan mee, egg burger and Ayam Percik. (Address: B 1503B, Jalan Young, Pandamaran Jaya, Pelabuhan Klang, 42000 Klang – opposite SJKC Pandamaran B)
We were stuffed after the tea time treat and the last stop before heading back home was this Fruity Cake & Bakery to get the apple strudel which I’ve read about in KY’s blog.
I was quite surprised by the crowd once I stepped into the bakery. Apparently Fruity Cake and Bakery not only offers usual baked goods but also serves food like pastas, chicken chop, sandwiches, and fried rice, just to name a few.
Cakes, pastries, breads and buns on the display.
Boxes of apple strudel (second and third row on the right) in the chiller display cabinet.
Apple Strudel (RM30.30 per box / RM6.75 per piece – dine in)
Approximately 30cm length per loaf, my box of apple strudel was nicely cut into 6 portions.
As KY mentioned in his blog, this apple strudel is comparable to the one from Perth’s Corica Pastries which they claimed themselves as ‘Perth’s Most Delicious Pastries’. Since I never try Corica Pastries’s version, so I cannot comment much about it but this one I bought home was scrumptious.
The flaky and brittle pastry with sugar glazed top was light and airy. Sandwiched with sufficient amount of custard, cream and caramelized diced apple, it’s certainly an indulgence worthy of every calories it packs!
Verdict: The apple strudel definitely scores up to my expectation and well worth checking out for pastry lovers. If you find yourself in Klang, give this a try!

I love apple strudel! Had it once which my brother brought back all the way from Australia.
PH, I wish I can have chance to taste apple strudel from Australia too! Is it from Corica Pastries?
Reminds me of Corica in Perth, the de-facto place for apple strudel, everyone was mentioning how good it was when i was studying there
Ken, so have you tried the Corica’s apple strudel?
ooo, it’s a surprise to see such a good-looking strudel here – great presentation! 🙂
Sean, I hope you can try this apple strudel really soon~
That’s a mighty fine-looking apple strudel….though personally apples aren’t one of my favourite fruits. 😛
Kris, so you don’t like apple and its related food products also?
