Gangnam 88 @ Sunway Giza Mall, Kota Damansara (Revisit)
I made a return to Gangnam 88 two weeks ago with my family after my pleasant dining experience there. We opted for Sunway Giza Mall branch too this time as it is more spacious and seats if compare to the Solaris Mont Kiara outlet. Plum Tea (RM 7.00+) & Green Tea (RM 5.00+)
Sam was presented with a set of cute cutlery after our ordering and she can’t wait to ask me took a photo of her posing with the spoon with drooling face 🙂
Tofu Kimchi (RM 39.80+)
Presented beautifully resembled a shinning sun with a huge portion of kimchi placed in the middle of the plate and surrounded by tofu sprinkled with black sesames.
Being adventurous this time, we’ve ordered this Tofu Kimchi which is a popular anju (Korean drinking snack) according to the staff. The vibrant flavor of the kimchi is mellowed by the soft, delicate texture of the plain tofu. Accompanied with thin sliced pork bellies, the kimchi was not as sour as the regular kimchi with hint of sweetness. The combination was simplistic yet fantastic!
Makgeoli (RM 25.00+)
We’ve ordered Makgeoli to go with the Tofu Kimchi as per recommended by the staff. My family and myself were first time trying on this Korean made alcoholic beverage which is traditionally made from rice. With only 6-7% of alcohol content, Makgeoli is easy to the palate, not too sour or sweet.
Kimchi Pork Roll Soup (RM 44.80+)
Served pipping hot in a cast iron pot with burner underneath, the kimchi soup was brimmed with bounteous amount of ingredients such as kimchi, sliced pork bellies, tofu, mung bean noodle, spring onions and mushrooms. A pungent concoction that can simply satisfy spicy food lover.
The special condiment in the soup was this kimchi pork roll which is minced meat wrapped with kimchi. The soup need to be cooked for a good 10-15 minutes and the staff will help to cut the kimchi pork rolls into smaller piece before savoring.
Carbonara Chicken (RM 39.80+)
For non-spicy food diners or kids, we’ve order this carbonara chicken. Laden with generous amount of yellow onions and fried chicken cubes coated evenly with creamy and savory carbonara sauce.
A plethora of small dishes served in colourful bowls definitely make Korean cuisine one of my sentimental favourite!
We leave the restaurant with a fully contented tummies , burps….
Verdict: Korean food is not all about BBQ and certainly love to make a third return to explore more!
I’m always in Giza. Maybe one day I should drop by this place too.

oh yeah, i also love those banchan given, in fact i actually love these small plates more than the main dishes, haha!! because i am one who prefers varieties and taste a little of everything~~ 😀
I like variety too, so we are same “greedy” person, wakaka!
