Hinata Cafe @ Eco Sky Gallery, Jalan Ipoh, KL
Who would’ve ever thought of there is a cafe well hidden in a property sales gallery? It’s Hinata Cafe nestled in EcoWorld Bizzhub at Eco Sky Gallery, Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur to be precise.
It’s ‘love at fist sight’ once I stepped into this place. The interior certainly had the feel of spaciousness with elegant grayish tone. The space is beautifully accentuated by the soft lighting as well as some black and white artworks adorning the walls. I particularly adore the Audrey Hepburn cushions and the wall shelves filled with books, potted plants and ornaments.
There’s an air of peace and easiness that makes for a quiet respite from the city. This is the kind of cafe that I wouldn’t mind spending my whole afternoon at, specially when the air conditioner is blasting at full speed 😛
Matcha Latte (RM12.00) & Long Black (RM9.00)
The menu isn’t really extensive, less than 20 choices included mains and dessert (waffles and cakes) if I remember correctly.
Wild Mushroom Pasta (RM17.00)
Despite its unappealing appearance, the flavor was actually not bad. Topped with assorted mushrooms (Shiitake, Shimeji, Eryngii & oyster mushrooms) cooked in savoury brown sauce, every mouthful was filled with pleasant earthy note. Sprinkles of Furikake added a mellow of umami taste to the dish.
Japanese Curry Chicken Cheese Baked Rice (RM21.00)
Served in a hot iron cast plate, the baked rice was generously topped with melted cheese as well as sprinkles of Furikake. The curry with minced meat was mild in spiciness (it is Japanese curry after all) and a tad light in flavor. Portion wise, this was Sam’s order but she only managed to finish half of it. One thing I didn’t fancy was the texture of the rice, too mushy and wet to my liking.
Verdict: Food we sampled was just average but I really like the ambiance and the laid-back vibe that’s capable to put people at ease.

I have seen this place as the developer is our client. I have to try their food someday.
TM, wah big client wor, under your account? Hehe, I’m so kepoh 😛
I suppose this place is not widely known but only to those who work at the building and people who visit the developer. The cheese baked rice looks pretty good until you mentioned that the rice is too soggy. I dislike soggy rice 🙁
PH, I get to know to place after reading a review online and the soggy rice was quite a turn off for me but Sam seem like had no problem with it =.=”
A cafe like this can only happen in EcoWorld. They must have posh cafes for their posh clients who buy their posh properties (you maybe?)….kekeke! 😀 I read somewhere that this cafe is a collaboration with La Casa (I find La Casa’s food to be quite good), so this one should be alright, I suppose.
Kris, I visit this place is purposely for a meal not the reason you’ve mentioned, haha!
These days the weather is scorching hot. It will be nice to just hide in here to enjoy coffee and aircond 😀
Merryn, you’re absolutely correct!
