Set in the cosmopolitan Xinyi district of Taipei, the Humble House Taipei 寒舍艾丽 occupied the 5th to 24th floor of a Diamond-rated Green Building” in line with their corporate social responsibility to reduce environmentally pollution. Being one of the Taiwan’s most Eco-friendly hotels and have been awarded the LEED Diamond by the Ministry of Interior for its energy efficient lighting, waste and water system.

The glass and aluminum facade of Humble House Taipei stands out from the crowd. Its unusual window shape and blue-grey shimmer, floor-to-ceiling windows resemble diamonds when seen from a distance and is where the guests can enjoy one of the best city’s view.

Open its art-laced door in December 2013, the hotel is strategically located in the heart of Xinyi—the capital’s vibrant shopping, commerce, and entertainment district. Surrounded by a few renowned shopping malls such as Shinkong Mitsukoshi, Bellavita, Breeze, Eslite Bookstore (诚品信义店)) as well as the iconic Taipei 101 which is only 10 minutes from the hotel. The nearest MRT station (Taipei City Hall station) is within 5 minutes walk from the hotel and I’ve discovered many interesting cafes and street food stalls nearby the hotels.

After a swift check in process, we were led to our room located at 23rd floor. With all the rooms are located on the 8th floor and up, this affords guests a broader views of the city and these views might be the best in the city.

Our 26 square meters Grand Deluxe room may not sound spacious, but it was more than enough for us because it made up for it in luxury. From the plush sealy posturepedic mattress (King/Twin), fine cotton sheet, cosy duvet and down pillows. My roommate & I had struggling time wake up from the comfy bed every morning. ^__^

The room also furnished with working desk, chaise lounge, 40″ HD flat screen, DVD player, surround sound bass speakers, multi-media hub connectivity panel, complimentary Wi-Fi and broadband internet access as well as external air convection.

Albeit minimalist, the interior focuses on art as its theme with art pieces blend beautifully into the design. The room dressed in soothing subdued neutral colour exudes a vibe which is totally different from the traditional.

The commanding view of Taipei 101 unquestionably the raison d’être of this room. The unobstructed view of the majestic Taipei 101 is absolutely splendid and my photos cannot justify its beauty due to the gloomy weather during my 4D3N stay at Taipei. ~>_<~  Actually there are more than one third of rooms have view of Taipei 101 while others look out over the shopping area of Xinyi district.

Humble House’s signature silk velvet bath robes, in-room safe, shoe shine kit and slippers also provided.

Coffee and tea making facilities, fully stocked mini bar with premium liquor and NESPRESSO pixie coffee machine.

A set of colourful Ritzenhoff espresso cups add liveliness to the ambience.

Apart from the nightly turndown service, I received great hospitality from everyone from the concierge to the doorman greeted me with warm smiles and were truly attentive.

The rooms is appointed with a decadent bathroom equipped with a mini-tub (could have been better if it’s a full-sized tub) and glass shower cubicle fitted with handheld shower head. The cleanliness is impeccable.

Completed the bathroom are high-tech washlet, luxury toiletries from UK ~ HEYLAND & WHITTLE, sewing kits, tooth brush & toothpaste, razor with cream, cotton swab, hair brush, vanity kit, hair dryer and weighing scale.

Located on the 7th floor, the swimming pool allow guests to gain a wonderful view of Taipei 101, and the endless skyline of the city. Remark: Pool will be closed from December till March.

Other facilities include grand ballroom (5th floor) fitness center and SPA both are located at 7th floor.
