Juadah Iftar Kampung @ The Westin Kuala Lumpur


The holy month of fasting has begun, let’s embrace the month of Ramadan with family and friends while break-fasting at The Living Room of The Westin Kuala Lumpur.

Themed as ‘Juadah Iftar Kampung’, diners are treated to a menu of over 100 varieties each day. Available from 19 May to 12 June 2018, priced at RM158nett per person. (Children 4 years and below dine for free, children aged 5 to 12 years receive 50% off)

 

Starting off as always with a splendid Whole Roasted Lamb served with Nasi Briyani. The lamb was well marinated with a good dose of spices and the tender and succulent meat with aromatic spices is always a favorite during breaking fast.

 

Ulam-Ulaman with piquant Sambal Belachan, Sambal Hijau, Budu, Tempoyak, and Cincaluk.

 

Assorted Kerabu and Acar to open up the palate before enjoy other dishes. The list of Kerabu is amazing from Kerabu Sotong Berserai, Kerabu Perut dan Soo Hoon, Kerabu Limau Bali, Kerabu Kaki Ayam, Kerabu Pucuk Paku with Tenggiri Pekasam, Acar Rampai, Acar Jelatah, Salted Eggs, Salted Fishes, Ikan Bilis Petai, Puyuh Goreng Belado and many more.

 

Buffet warmers are filled with pots of glorious curries and dishes to go with hearty steamed rice. Savor Ketam Masak Lemak Nenas, Kupang Berlada, Ayam Sambal Hijau, Kari Daging Tetel, Gulai Keting Kambing Keluak, Udang Sambal Petai, Kacang Panjang Goreng Kunyit, Fish Head Curry, Beef Kandar and Kobis Goreng Kunyi.

 

The Assam Pedas Claypot station is where diners can select their choice of meat and seafood to be cooked into Assam Pedas Tempoyak, Assam Pedas Nyonya or Assam Pedas Johor.

 

Live stations featuring Mee Celup, Curry Laksa and Nasi Air Berlauk with an array of ingredients and condiments. These custom made noodles dishes definitely makes great fillers to keep everyone satisfied. Boiled cockles with homemade chili sauce was one of the popular dishes at the live station, my dining companion enjoyed the fresh and plump cockles tremendously. More selection such as roasted chicken rice, Yong Tau Foo and Char Koay Teow were available too.

To warm up the tummy after a day of fasting, get yourself a bowl of Sup Tulang Rawan with spice laden broth. It was delicious and aromatic with flavourful beefy broth as well as the spices and herbs. Besides the Sup Gear Box, there were other soups as well as the authentic Bubur Lambuk. Don’t forget the classic delicacies of Chicken and Beef Satay, Lemang, Roti Jala and Sayur Lodeh.

 

Other international highlights included BBQ Beef Ribs, Roasted Chicken, Salt Crusted Whole Baked Seabass and Pasta Station.

The kaleidoscope of desserts were amazingly pretty. Enjoy Pencuci Mulut of assorted Malay Kuih, Pinacolada Mousse Cake, jellies, layer cakes, Mixed Fruit Dacquoise, Strawberry Mousse Cake, Peach Upside Down Cake, Vanilla Cream Brulee, Tau Foo Fah, Len Chi Kang with Sea Coconut, ABC, Cendol, Chocolate Fountain, ice cream and many more.
