Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights
‘Ko Hyang’ means hometown in Korean and Ko Hyang Korean Country Delights is a simple Korean food outlet established in 2008 in Malaysia. Served country style home-cooked Korean meals, their menu featuring quite a limited choices of food but enough to satisfy one when the craving attack!
I paid a visit to the 1 Mont Kiara outlet one fine weekend for lunch and the place was quite vacant or should I say the whole mall was quite vacant? ~.~
Ko Hyang doesn’t occupied a proper shop but an open place tucked at a corner of Level 1 at the mall. Simple marble top tables and stools; clean and bright environment.
Green Tea (RM 3.30++) & Korean Aloe Vera (RM 3.80++)
O Jing Eo Bokem (RM 17.90++)
This is stir fried squid with vegetables in chili sauce. This was absolutely delicious, mildly spicy and fragrant from the chili sauce and the addition of sesame seeds made the combination more aromatic.
Served with sticky brown rice, I like the chewy texture.
Every main dishes ordered come with complimentary appetizers, I had kimchi and sweet anchovies which were good while the bean sprout and soup was forgettable. All the side dishes were refillable.
Bi Bim Bab (RM 16.90++)
There are 2 type of bi bim bab in the menu, we opted for the one served in stainless steel bowl while the other one is served in stone pot.
Brown rice topped with assorted vegetables and meat (chicken/beef) in myriads of colour. The chili paste (gochujang) was hidden underneath the beautifully done sunny side up.
Give all the ingredients a good mix and voila it’s ready to be savored! It was a great combination consisted of crunchy vegetables and moist rice with the chili paste. The spiciness was mild but provide a good flavor to the mixture.
We polished it off effortlessly 😛
Verdict: The food was decent and very reasonably priced. There are many outlets conveniently located in the main shopping mall, will definitely don’t mind if I want a affordable Korean meal.
