KSL Resort @ Johor Bahru, Johor

My accommodation for my previous Johor trip was KSL Resort which is a family friendly hotel around that vicinity because it is attached to a water theme park. The hotel is connected to a shopping mall (KSL City) and located only a short drive from Singpore-Johor Bahru causeway as well as City Square Shopping Centre.

The lobby is spacious, bright and airy, with sufficient amount of comfortable sofas for the hotel guests.

Replica terracotta warrior statue placed at the lobby is a popular photography spot, although it’s a bit odd, haha!

Our Superior Twin room is rather spacious and comes with a Queen size bed and a single bed. The interior is a bit dated but the cleanliness was overall satisfying.

The room is fully equipped with all necessities that any travelers could possibly ask for included LCD TV (very small though =.=”), safe box, mini bar, coffee and tea making facilities and complimentary water. A simple dressing table cum working desk as well as WIFI connection is provided too but the connection was not very stable during our stay.

The bathroom is well sectioned into shower and dry area. Cleanliness was satisfying as well but only rainforest shower is provided though.

Completed with basic toiletries.

One of the attractive point or the family-friendly feature of the hotel is the attached Dinosaur Water Theme Park. It’s free admission for the hotel guests but it is also open for public with entrance fee of RM50.00 for adult and RM30.00 for child.

The water theme park is located same level as the rooftop pool (Level 7) and furnished with a few automated dinosaurs.

The water theme park features different water play areas such as swimming pools, water slides, splash pads and water playground.

There is also a trampoline which is very popular among the kids.

Tubes for rent.

But on personal stance, I think the entrance fee is not really worthy considering the facilities provided.

Other facilities in the hotel which we didn’t manage to explore more. Breakfast buffet was provided at Infusion Cafe Restaurant. The spread was pretty average but please be reminded that the cafe was fully occupied during my visit on a Sunday morning and queue was formed waiting for table. So be earlier or alternatively you can seek for some local breakfasts as there is a food court located just opposite the hotel. (Or eateries in shopping mall)

Istana Bukit Serene, the royal palace and official residence of the Sultan of Johor, is among the famous tourist attractions in Johor Bahru. The palace is not open to public but visitors can snap great photo with the crown arch that complements the palace. It was was built to mark Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar’s coronation on March 23, 2015.

Last but not least, a silly photo of me with the crown arch. Look ma, I have a big crown with numerous of crystal stones LOL
