Manmaru Homemade Udon @ Mid Valley
Manmaru pride themselves in preparing fresh udon daily on site at their outlet at Mid Valley using the finest premium wheat flour imported from Japan.
The restaurant has adopted a simple light wood theme that offers a comfortable dining ambiance to the patrons. The place also well illuminated with plenty of natural light from the large panel glass windows at the back section of the restaurant.
With the tagline of using machinery imported from Japan and the master culinary skills of Japanese chefs, a slurpilicious gastronomical experience is guaranteed. Also promised are no preservatives, MSG and coloring in the entire udon making process.
Iced Green Tea (RM 2.00)
Edamame (RM 4.90)
Kamo Nanban Udon (RM 15.90)
With such price tag, I was more than satisfying with the generous portion of smoked duck breast given.
Submerged in a clear broth, the Sanuki style udon was in perfectly al-dente and slightly chewy texture. The slippery smooth udon definitely well worth slurping up! The broth was mildly flavoured with sliced scallions that jazzed up the overall flavors.
Kimchi Nabe Udon (RM 14.90)
The Japanese udon infused with Korean flavor. My Kimchi Nabe Udon served in a claypot with robustly flavoured soup completed with shimeji mushrooms, chicken chunks, kimchi and spring onion.
Chicken Teriyaki Onsen Tamago Udon (RM 15.90)
A poke to the nicely done onsen egg and let the oozing goodness mixed into the noodle strands. The luscious egg liven up the udon beautifully while the Teriyaki chicken was tender and provided a more dimensional flavors.
Kani Tamago Mentai (RM 9.90)
I love Tamago, an adeptly done rolled egg omelet always can make me glee with joy. When tamago topped with creamy and moreish mentai, a mouthful of this and I’ll be on cloud nine, satisfactory that is!
Verdict: Affordable comfort food with wide variety, certainly no excuse not to visit.
