Maria’s SteakCafe @ Metropolitan Square, Damansara Perdana
In conjunction of US Potato Culinary Festival, Maria’s SteakCafe has introduced 3 new dishes using the premium potatoes from US.
Maria’s SteakCafe has been operating for more than 10 years at Metropolitan Square, Damansara Perdana which is quite a tricky location if you’re not familiar with the building layout. But rest-assured, the good food specially the highly recommended steaks served here definitely worth a detour.
Furnished with dark wooden tables with checkered table cloths and chairs , the restaurant exude a warm homey feel. The chandeliers provide a sense of elegance to the overall setting.
Another dining area near the entrance with modern and stylish setting.
US Potato and Pear Soup (RM 9.50)
Mashed US Potatoes with Smoked Salmon and Beef Bacon (RM 15.00)
The next dish was a large scoop of mashed US potato studded with bits of smoked salmon and beef bacon. Both ingredients not only provided a nice texture to every spoonful but rendering a good notes of smokiness to the dish.
Shepherd’s Pie (RM 18.00)
Spicy Mussels (RM 22.00)
Seafood and tomato sauce always a perfect match, our appetizer was 6 plump mussels smothered with spicy tomato sauce. The tangy and spicy tomato sauce was infused with pleasant herbaceous flavor, the garlic bread served along best to mop up the sauce.
Oriental Salad (RM 12.00)
The salad was a great concoction as the combination of crisp lettuce, cucumber, tomato, capsicum and shiitake mushroom dressed with Japanese soy sauce, vinaigrette and sesame oil are amazing. Crowned with bonito flakes which added an umami taste to the palate.
Australian Black Angus (RM 48.00 per 100gram)
Maria’s SteakCafe holds great pride for its steaks and they were indeed didn’t disappointed me. Took the center stage that evening was the best-selling steak grilled to medium rare perfection.
Our portion of 270gram Australian Black Angus was cooked to our preferred done-ness (medium rare) with a good charred edges
As I cut into the meat, one can see how nicely crust the beef has and yet the inside remained divinely luscious and moist. Bathed in its own jus, the steak was also beautifully tender. The steak was served with grilled potato wedges, broiled seasonal vegetables and mustard wasabi sauce.
Australian Wagyu 7 (RM 95.00 per 100gram)
With the Grade 7 marbling score, our Wagyu had a balance of fat and meat. Look at the beautiful pinkish inner, I can taste the well-marbled creaminess of the wagyu and it is also very tender and juicy. I also like how the thickness of the cut made this highly prized 250gram Wagyu beef even more desirable as one can really enjoy the full flavor and textures of the meat.
New Zealand Baby Cutlets (RM 54.00)
Another choice for meat lovers was this New Zealand Baby Cutlets. The meat was tender with beautiful charred edges. and there were just enough bits of fat to keep the meat moist and tasty.
Seafood Aglio Olio (RM 26.00)
For a more substantial meal, we had this pasta dish which appeared to be a crowd pleaser. The tempting flavours of garlicky with sprinkling of chili and herbs supporting the seafood’s sweetness in the dish.
Prune Cake (RM 9.50)

Wasn’t a fan of their other meats like lamb and chicken. Only the steaks were good…like the Black Angus I had in Bangsar.
Lamb not bad too actually but the best still the steak, LOL
