Menzo Japanese Ramen @ Solaris Mont Kiara
Hubby’s is a Japanese Ramen enthusiast which he would suggest to have Ramen at least once a month for our dining out days. Our usual Ramen place is Menya Kamikaze which it’s location is the most convenient to us.
Not long ago, I’ve read a review of Menzo Japanese Ramen located at Solaris Mont Kiara (SOHO KL) and decided to give this place a try.
The setting of the restaurant was casual and simple, there wasn’t any decoration to speak of.
Outdoor seating facing the roads. Parking can be slightly challenging at this area but shouldn’t be a problem if you’re willing to walk a little bit more by parking in the multi-level parking at SOHO KL.
The prices for the ramen are slightly cheaper than Menya Kamikaze but the choices are not as many as the latter.
Other than ramen, Menzo also offers Yakiniku (Japanese grilled meat) which take center stage in their menu, featuring variety of meat (beef, pork and chicken), seafood and vegetables. They also have many other choices such as salads, fried dishes, sashimi, gyoza, assorted appetizers, rice bowls and even Bibimbap.

Tonkotsu with Ajitama (RM22.00)
From the appearance, the pork bone soup looked creamy and cloudy. One sip and I can taste the glorious meaty essence but hubby and I still prefer the broth’s flavour of Menya Kamikaze. No faults on this but just more of a matter of preference. I also like their chashu with a good cut of lean and fat but still wishing for a thicker cut for extra satisfaction. There were also seaweed, shredded wood ear fungus, bamboo shoot and nicely cooked onsen egg in this bowl of delicious ramen.
Kuro Mayu Tonkotsu with Ajitama (RM22.00)
The black sesame and garlic oil infused soup brought extra smoky flavour to the broth, added more depth and made the broth richer. The ramen here was thin and cooked just right to absorb the flavours of the soup.
Kara Tonkotsu with Ajitama (RM22.00)
With the same pork bone soup base and ingredients, my choice was another version that laced with spicy oil. Not too spicy to the palate and the heatness is beautifully nuanced it’s addictive, I almost finished the soup. (*^_^*)
Verdict:To be honest, I wouldn’t say Menzo Japanese Ramen is my favourite ramen place but certainly worth trying.

Melissa, any nice ramen restaurant in Seremban?
ooO so sinful so good! I need more of those pork pls thanks.
KY, I can’t eat much the pork, quite fatty and can be very cloying >_<
I love ramen! So far my favorite is Menya Musashi. A remen restaurant just opened in my area but they only serve chicken ramen. So I was not interested. LOL!
PH, I like Menya Musashi as well. Have you tried Menya Kamikaze, it’s good too.
Wow, you can finish the soup? I find most tonkotsu broth too intensely-flavoured for my palate. It’s not something I would usually eat.
Kris, not polished clean, 80% I think~ I have high tolerance for “salty” food 😛
