Another option of Starter Assortment served in a plank is screaming for attention too. Arranged aesthetically, there are a few elements such as small balls of crispy Gribiche, mini Onion Mushroom Tart, Tuna Rillettes, Pork Liver Pate, Comte cheese,  gherkin pickle and a soft and creamy Baked Egg with crispy toasted soldiers.

With a bottom deal price of RM69++, diners can have a 3-course menu which included a starter, followed by an option of main course of Meat of the Day or Seafood of the Day and your choice of dessert from the dessert menu.

Main Course – Filet de Loup de Mer

The Seabass fillets were pan fried fragrantly rendering a nice crispy skin with tender, flaky flesh. Served with a light citrus sauce that brilliant complement the fish and brought out the sweetness of it. The side dishes of colourful sauteed vegetables completed the dish.

Main Course – Poulet Facon Cocotte

Meat of The Day option that day was in form of chicken roulade with stuffing served with sauteed vegetables. Prepared by using sous-vide method, the chicken was superbly tender and I like the stuffing which provided a multitude of flavors and textures to the overall bite.

Dessert – Tarte au Citron Meringue

Brimming with anticipation, this dessert that highly recommended by the waiter was not disappoint indeed. The lemon tart was tangy with pleasant citrusy flavor without any artificial acidic taste. The tart was speckled with torched meringue, studded with thin apple slices, dragon fruit bits as well as the lime sorbet. A dessert that truly knocked my socks off.

If you are not into their Sunday Brunch menu, Rendez-Vous’s ala carte menu looks impressive too filled with delectable range of French cuisines.

Foie Gras de Canard (RM48.00)

The dish had a visually stunning presentation to attract the eyes even before it is savoured. The morsels of Foie Gras terrine with a layer of port wine jelly served with creamy puree and mushroom jus. The duck liver was dense with a butter-like consistency, it possessed a powerful evocative flavors. Bits of mushrooms, herbs  and crisps prettied up the whole dish.

Poitrine de Porc Fondante (RM49.00)

A slab of achingly tender pork belly appeared in beautiful golden hue accompanied with   crispy balls of Gribiche, mushroom cannelloni, baby corn, asparagus, snow peas, cherry tomatoes and baby corns. The flavors of the meat was minimal, the pairing sauce ws delicate and boosted more flavors for it. Simply pièce de résistance of that afternoon.

Tranche D’Agneau au Jus (RM62.00)

20160724_145354

It was a lamb dish comprises of a few components , pan seared lamb racks,  and smoked herring cream. Seared to a perfect doneness, the lamb was tender and the juiciness was remained. I like the smoked herring cream, it had a delightful saltiness with discernible smoky aroma. While the pissaladière which originated from Nice in Southern France to me is an incarnation of mini pizza. It is actually a bread dough with topping consists of caramelised onions, olives, garlic and anchovies.

Paris Brest (RM20.00)

20160724_151623

Definitely an artist’s masterpiece that you don’t want to destroy the food arrangement. The petite choux pastry filled with hazelnut cream were really decadent. One bite and oh boy I’m on cloud nine! The crusty top choux pastry, rich and nutty hazelnut cream, dollops of chocolate sauce as well as the fruit cubes which literally had us licked the plate clean.

Delice au Chocolat et Caramel (RM22.00)

Sandwiched in between two nutty chocolate “biscuits” was a luscious and creamy dark chocolate mousse with salted almond and peanut praline hidden within. The flavors was alluring and poise a comforting balance between sweet and bitter. The fruits element successfully cut through the richness of the chocolate mousse. The salted caramel ice cream served aside also had me singing for joy as it is my favourite ice cream flavor!

Last but no least, a cuppa to end the scrumptious meal.

Maestro behind the lovely dishes served that afternoon, the young and talented (good looking too eh :P) Chef Chef Benjamin Reilhes from Toulouse in the South of France. Trained in both Toulouse and Paris, Benjamin has worked in many noteworthy and highly regarded restaurants and hotels, including three Michelin star rated Le Prè Catelan in Paris.
