>Reunion Dining @ Tai Thong Summer Palace
>It’s Lunar New Year (or just Chinese New Year if you like to call it this way)!!. Just before the 1st day of CNY, it would be the customary Reunion Dining among family members. In fact, I had two Reunion Dining on the last day of year of Ox; Lunch & Dinner ~ divided perfectly between my in-law family and my family (it’s Saturday).
I had my 1st Reunion Dining at Tai Thong Summer Palace ~ Wisma Dijaya. It was lunch time and surprise surprise, there are only max 5-7 tables dining at that time. Note to myself, should take more reunion lunch next time ~ good food minus the crowd.
As with every Chinese restaurant out there, there are a few CNY sets but we did not opt for the set since we have only 6 pax. A-la carte it is!!
Salmon Lou Sang
Definitely a must when CNY huh…..How many times u had this already?? 😛
Fatt Choy Hou Si (Hair Moss Dried Oyster)
A “good” dish for the Chinese due to the name of the dish which means “Strike it Rich & Good Business” :-). Laden with Dried Oyster, Hair Moss, Mushroom, Roasted Pork (siu yoke) & broccoli with thick sauce.
Steam Cod Fish
Fish dish is a must because fish in Mandarin or Cantonese resemble “leftover” ~
年年有余(鱼) “every year full of surpluses (fish)” .
Steam is the simplest way to cook the fish, we can taste the sweetness of the flesh & I like the gish skin the most as it’s full of collagen!!!!
Steam Kampung Chicken with Ginger & Garlic
Although we order only half bird, it came with quite a big portion, I thought kampung chicken is smaller in size if compare with farm chicken?
Lotus Root with Assorted Vegetables
Choy Sum
Some veggie dishes to balance the diet 😛
The Reunion Dining cost about RM370++. It’s a quite fulfilling meal to start our year of the TIGER! Gong Xi Fa Cai!!!
>Gong xi gong xi!!
All the while we cook ourself. But, will eat at restaurant from next year onwards as my mom is too lazy to cook already.
>惨了,我们根本还没开始捞生……>.<
