Revisit ~ The Red BeanBag @ Publika
Always wanna make a revisit to The Red BeanBag after my maiden visit a year + ago as it was a good experience indeed 🙂 But I heard that this place is forever crowded especially during weekends, so my plan was dragged until a lunch gathering was called by my makan kaki.
Although we reached after peak hour for lunch circa 2pm+, we still needed to wait for table to accommodate our group of 6 persons.
Not much changes on the decors in the cafe since my last visit but there are some addition items in the menu and their operating hours has extended to dinner time.
Drinking water (FOC) was served once we were seated.
Beverages ~ Their coffee is good according to some of my coffee expert friends but sorry I’m not a coffee person, so no comment on it 😛
The Atlantic (RM 22.00)
Elevated version of the much praised RBB Egg Benedict. Quite visually appealing stacks of poached eggs with smooth hollandaise sauce, sparagus, mushrooms and smoked salmon on a thick fluffy French-toasted bread. The poached egg was undeniable perfected done and the whole combination was satisfying!
Bagna Cauda (RM 20.00)
The homemade potato rosti served with wilted Australian baby spinch, beef bacon (my friend omitted this), poached egg & bagna cauda (anchovy sauce) was a let down though. The rosti was a tad too dry but the poached egg was always the saving grace 😛
Signature Baked Eggs (RM 18.00)
This was as good as my first visit, gooey, cheesy and creamy, sinfully delicious stuff~
Lamb Shakshuka (RM25.00)
A Tunisian dish consisted of chunks of slow braised lamb served in cast iron pan drenched in a tomato base gravy loaded with various spices and herbs. The flavor was delectable and the addition of 2 raw eggs rendering a luscious smooth gravy which really went well with the accompanied roti canai.
Skyscrapper (RM 14.90)
A pancake tower served along with caramelized berries and banana drizzled with chocolate syrup and topped with a tiny cube of butter. Nothing to complaints but nothing to shout about too 🙂
Verdict: Food was decent but the service was a bit slow, perhaps due to the massive crowd. A revisit seem like predictable 🙂
