SeoulScape Bistro @ The Strand, Kota Damansara
Walking up to SeoulScape Bistro was delightful as one will welcomed graciously with those cute graffiti along the stairs leading up to this little restaurant at first floor.
I can’t help myself but snap as much as I can to show you guys how cute the drawings are!
The cuteness doesn’t stop there as there are more lovely elements waiting for you!
This huge cartoon mural occupied one of the wall in the restaurant which really eye-catching.
Looking around this little restaurant, I was struck by the startling Korean inspired ornaments decorated the whole place.
Tables are quite limited here, 6 to 7 tables if not mistaken.
Some magazines (outdated :P) for your reading pleasure, if you don’t mind LOL
Some of the vibrant elements found here ~ drawstring photographs, miniature cartoon figurines, KPop posters & etc.
It was full-house when our visit on a Sunday evening but luckily I’ve made reservation before we came.
Plain water (FOC)
Ordering was done in a jiffy but the food took some times to reach us as they are seriously understaffed. However the only staff who basically did everything (except cooking I believe) apologized sincerely to us a few times which was something really commendable and I hope they have made improvement on this issue.
Complimentary side dishes, the quality and quantity definitely not as impressive as those at chain restaurants or more established joint.
We had Buddae Jiggae which literally means “Army Base Stew”, a popular hotpot in South Korea. Soon after the Korean War, food was scarce in Seoul, South Korea. Some people made use of surplus foods from US Forces Korea such as hot dogs, ham, and incorporated them into a traditional spicy soup flavored with gochujang (red chili paste) and kimchi.
If you expect to get Korean BBQ here, sorry this is not a place for you ~.~
Buddae Jiggae (部队锅) Rm30.00 (2-3pax) comes with 2 bowls of rice and 1 noodle
Laden bountifully with hotdogs, ham, tofu, baked beans, mushrooms and vegetables. The broth and ingredients took a good 10-20 minutes to be boiled.
This pot of simmering stew was well balanced and had a good kick of spiciness & sourness level. It might not be the best I’ve tried but I like it because it leaned towards a very home-cooked aura.
Add in the instant noodle for a more substantial meal.
Some soupy noodle for Sam, not really like it as the noodle was soggy and the flavor was bordered on bland >.<
Hey, hang in there!
Verdict: I like the environment, food taste wise and most probably will revisit since I’m fan of Korean food and never get bored of kimchi ^__*

Cute place! Can you believe it that I’ve never tried kimchi in my entire life?
Why? U don’t like kimchi?
Nice ambiance but the food looks normal to me, especially the bland instant noodle dish LOL
Hits and misses, I like the friendly service 🙂
This place is so nice, I love the ambiance and the decorations!
Ya, me too that’s why I took a lots of photo despite the place was full house that night 😛
I too like the ambiance. More like a casual type of Korean restaurant rather than those formal type.
