Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort @ Bali

It’s been weeks since I last updated my 2018 Bali Trip experience. The last post was about my food experience at Warung Dedari. Continuing on my adventure at Bali where we “camped-out” at Seminyak for first night (mind you, I still remember the fabulous steak here), we checked out the next day to have Bali cultural immersion via temples sight-seeing, which took almost the whole day. It was tiring but an eye opener for Sam and us.

How to do you refresh yourself after a whole day of walking and traveling?

Of course by pampering yourself by checking in on a luxury resort at Nusa Dua, a gated enclave that houses five-star resort hotels. It’s pristine and safe, if a little sterile, but the beach is stunning. My hubby insisted on staying Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort after being inspired by Mark Wien’s positive review. You can click on his video for more perspective here.

If you did go through Mark Wien’s review, you will not overlooked the fact that it has awesome swimming pool and I might say one of the best swimming pool I have seen. This was certainly good news for Sam as it was her birthday present (travel to Bali).

Well, later on the swimming pool (here a snippet photo of the pool from the lobby).

Befitting the grandeur of a luxury resort, we were greeted with friendly hotel staff and ushered to the check-in area.

Check-in was done in a waiting room with ample sofas and chairs while awaiting your turn. It was a fast check-in as we got our room key within 5 minutes of loitering at the waiting area.

Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort has a wonderful beachfront location at Nusa Dua, on Bali’s south coast and covers hectares of well-manicured tropical gardens. The resort presents a collection of 415 suites and villas, all featuring modern interiors with subtle touches of Balinese details.

We walked into our beautifully-appointed Lagoon View Luxury Room and impressed at the spaciousness of it. The 48 square metre space boasts a large living area, a king bed, spacious bathroom and a balcony that opens up to the lagoon. (♥ω♥*)

Taking on the neutral light beige tone, the charming and elegant space is fitted with gleaming parquet flooring (partially carpeted), indigenous teak wood furniture and wall panels in signature Balinese inspired thatched bamboo motifs as well as splashes of soothing bluish grey.

Our King size bed was absolutely a pleasure to sleep in. The firmness was just right with large fluffy pillows fine cotton sheets and cozy duvet.

PS: Those balloons were special birthday arrangement for Sam which included a piece of delicious chocolate cake.

There is also a small living area within the Luxury Room that comes complete with a comfortable sofa and small coffee table. Next to it you will find a very well-concealed minibar take take the form of a wooden tubular cabinet that is stocked with cold beverages and snacks (chargeable). Basic coffee and tea-making facilities are also provided in the room.

Chargeable minibar beverages and snacks.

The room also comes with an Illy coffee machine but coffee pods are actually not complimentary as they are part of the minibar list of items.

Facing the bed is a large flat screen TV filled with various channels.

The modern round glass table as work desk with all the usual trimmings. Complimentary WiFi is provided in the rooms and around the property which would help overseas travelers like us to stay connected.

The spacious bathroom with combination of wood, marble and granite surface exuded an elegance ambiance. Open concept bathroom – one may open up the partition panels to enjoy more space.

The bathroom is well designed to be sectioned into three section spaces, making it comfortable for respective uses.

The glamorous rectangular freestanding deep soaking tub with wooden bathtub tray is more than enough to fit two person. Plush fluffy bathrobe, a full-set of bathroom amenities included shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, soap and shower loofah, toothpaste and toothbrush, facial cotton pads, cotton buds, comb, razor and shaving cream and nail file won brownie points from me.

There is also a shower room with rain shower head with solid water pressure and excellent temperature controlled water system.

Complimentary drinking water and tea pot set.

Other room facilities include open wardrobe hanging rack, safe-deposit box, iron & ironing board, indoor slippers, umbrella, torch light, hairdryer and laundry service pack.

Our decent-sized private balcony completed with rocking chair and hanging swing chair overlooking the lagoon pool. We checked in to hotel at 5pm+ and Sam couldn’t resist to have a quick dip at the pool after seeing this view from our balcony. So are you ready to check out the stunning pool? Let’s go!  ٩(^ᴗ^)۶

The resort’s extensive freeform turquoise lagoon pool is curving around the property and surrounded and dappled by landscaped gardens blooming with flowers. The pool features various parasol-shaded sun loungers, semi-submerged loungers and ample of cabanas around the edges. There is also a Jacuzzi pool and the children’s pool with mini man made beach, water fountain and waterslide allow the little ones splash to their heart’s content.

L’oh Pool Bar

The swim up bar with one side on the pool and amphitheater style sitting on the other.

It’s me basking in the abundant Balinese sun-ray. (^_<)~☆

We were lucky to get a gazebo on the second day during our stay and spent almost four hours at the pool. Draped with fresh sights of lush verdure, Sofitel’s inviting Lagoon Pool is an invigorating site for leisure on a perfect afternoon. The laid-back atmosphere with clear skies and breezy winds while relaxing by the pool, I really couldn’t ask for more…..✿♥‿♥✿

Aftermath ~ Severe sunburns which took months to recover. (⋟﹏⋞)

Evening and night view of the pool.

As the property is large and well spread out, you wouldn’t feel as though the place is crowded even when it’s in full occupancy. The only time you will notice a crowd is during breakfast and then you’re pretty much on your own throughout the rest of the day.

Not only offering plush accommodation and world-class service, the Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort is home to an incredible range of on-site facilities. Wellness spa, beauty clinic, kids club, tennis court, fitness centre, massage, bicycles rental and a private beach with assorted of water sports at your disposal.

Toya Beach Bar and Grill

Walk past the resort’s gorgeous tropical gardens, lagoon pools and beachfront lawns, and you step right onto the immaculate stretch of white sand of Nusa Dua. The relaxing palapas and sunbeds line the resort’s beachfront for those who simply want to relax and chill with a great view and infinite serene sea breeze.

There’s five restaurants and bars onsite serving eclectic choices of cuisine and settings. Cucina, the poolside fine-dining restaurant specializes in international cuisine, Kwee Zeen, open 24 hours and specializes in Pan Asian cuisine, Le Bar, the lobby bar as well as the Toya Beach Bar and Grill and L’oh Pool Bar that I’ve mentioned above.

Look who’s our surprise guest during our breakfast at Kwee Zeen!

Will be sharing my breakfast in another post, stay tune (^_-)-☆

Snacking at Le Bar, enjoying the gorgeous night view of the hotel before we call it a day.

Verdict: My much anticipated vacation made perfect by staying at Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua Beach Resort. The hotel with combination of French elegance and authentic Balinese charm not only offers an exhaustive list of facilities but also provides refined luxury experiences that truly impressed me and my family. Echoing quintessential luxurious comfort, our room was in top-notch condition, spacious and clean. The vast lagoon pool, where lush verdure and cooling waters come together, the best way to enjoy a magnificent tropical getaway. The service was attentive and impeccable, we really had a splendid experience throughout our two nights stay, worth every penny spent.

Since the location of the resort is rather secluded, transportation arrangement is much needed if you wish to go out for meal or other activities. Ngurah Rai International Airport is 30 minutes drive from the hotel and 15 minutes walk to Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre and Bali International Convention Center. We went to the nearby Bali Collection Shopping Center by taxi for dinner and went back to the hotel by the shuttle service, do check out their schedule for the shuttle service. Others attractions nearby the hotel are Waterblow, Pasifika Museum and Nikki Beach Club.
