There are many reasons to fall in love with Taiwan and this small country definitely has an abundance to offer.
If you’re a foodie like me, Taiwan unquestionably a food heaven. There are countless night markets across the island that houses numerous of delightful local street foods and snacks. Restaurants that serve assorted of international cuisine, unique and cool themed cafes (eg: toilet, hospital and prison theme) and eateries that provide various of exotic food (for example snake meals) to satisfy your adventurous palate. Food is literally can be purchased at anytime during the day.
One of my favourite pastimes are watching Taiwanese TV program and they always say what they proud of their country is the people themselves. ‘The most beautiful scenery of Taiwan is the people’ which is one of their “saying” to describe their beloved country. Throughout both my previous trip (my first trip was back to a few years ago with my family), this “saying” is indeed very true. Generally Taiwanese are polite, soft-spoken, friendly and always willing to offer a smile. Check out my free food sample experience at Dadaocheng HERE which enough to explain this valid reason to make you love Taiwan.
Shopaholic, you can shop till you drop at Taiwan! Trendy fashion, cute trinkets, latest gadgets, quirky items (including kinky stuff), ethnic handicrafts and food You just have to make sure that you have extra luggage space & weight covered in your return ticket! LOL
Taiwan also has a lot to offer to nature-lovers, from winding coastlines to high mountain forests and offshore islands. Taiwan has been generously endowed by nature. The island’s many natural attractions can be experienced at national scenic areas, national parks, forest recreation areas and general scenic area. Have a dip at some popular hotspring spots such as Beitou 北投 and Jiaoxi 礁溪 also a popular itinerary among tourists.

To cut the story short, I think I need to stop here or else this post will be a super long winded post LOL Taiwan definitely a country that worth not a visit but two, three, four or more!
So today’s post is to share about 3 places that I visited on my third day at Taipei which located in same district ~ Zhongshan District 中山区.
Taipei Fine Arts Meseum (TFAM) 台北市立美术馆
Completely in 1983, TFAM rises up proudly from the banks of Keelung River基隆河 in the scenic Yuanshan area 圆山 . It was Taiwan’s first public museum of modern and contemporary art, which covers an area of more than 20,000 square meters. The curators have focused on researching the development of modern art in Taiwan over the past century while keeping apace of ongoing contemporary art trends, engaging in international exchange, and propelling young talent into the art world.
The museum houses 11,741 square meters of exhibit space spanning across 3 separate levels which give me a feel of spaciousness and sense of tranquility. The museum is uniquely designed to suit the needs of different exhibitions.
There were several exhibitions going on during our visit. Photos below are some of the art pieces I took from different exhibition halls.
Guided tours of exhibitions in Chinese and English are provided at the museum. Please call or email to make reservation.

Some of the “unique” artworks of 2016 Taipei Arts Awards being displayed during our visit. Although I couldn’t understand most the art pieces but I still enjoyed the novelty of the experience 😛

Do you know “colourful pile” on the floor is an artwork too? I apologize for not having sense of art, aren’t you? =.=”

Wishing Garden
A lotus pond surrounded by lush greenery and colourful flowers, big LOVE! ♥♥♥
There is an art exhibition venue in the pavilion which allows artists to curate exhibitions or local cultural theme exhibitions. While the Living Wisdom Center is where art meets design. The fusion of greenness, art and living aesthetics is transformed into the concept of wisdom through digital technology. Besides performance, theme exhibition and life fashion show, the minimalistic, exquisite lifestyle and environment of premium quality homes in Taiwan will also be presented.
We had a beautiful afternoon tea at the Floral Banquet. Our dessert platter did a hint of visual excitement as soon as the dish was served. Every piece looked utterly delectable aesthetically decorated with edible flower. Flavor wise, food here is mild in taste and emphasis the original flavor of the ingredients.

Hmm, have not been to Taiwan, but heard so much about their food and people!!
As for these art museums… I don’t think I’ll include them in my itinerary if I am going, haha!
Sorry la, 我不会欣赏啦!:p
Hailey, 其实偶尔让艺术薰陶下也不错啦,嘻嘻:
I love Taipei for the art they presented 🙂
There are always surprises that cheer you up.
San Yi Ting, Taiwan indeed a charming country from many aspects!
Ooo I’ve watched Taiwanese movies before but not Taiwanese tv shows! But anyway your photos are lovely and definitely alluring for those of us who haven’t been 🙂
Sean, I think Taiwanese TV shows are not attractive for English educated person like you or my hubby as he always said those shows are boring when he saw me watching it >_< Anyway, no matter you understand the language or not, their food, culture, attractive scenery and the warm hospitality are something you will definitely enjoy!
