Thanon Thung Sao Dim Sum @ Hatyai
Previous posts :
Before started our one day tour around Hatyai on the second day, we were brought to this infamous dim sum cum bak kut teh restaurant to have our breakfast.
Being one of the popular eatery for tourists, it was indeed had brisk business and bustling with activities on our visit.
We were greeted by highly stacked dim sum in bamboo baskets at the entrance and the staffs were busy taking order from the crowd. Despite being extremely busy, the staffs still attended the patrons patiently and promptly.
Thanon Thung Sao Dim Sum boasts of a wide selection of dim sum in a mélange of colors and shapes. There were some dim sum that really intrigued my curiosity as I never see them before here at KL. Patrons can choose their dim sum here and the staff will help to cook/steam the dim sum. Photo shown are dim sum before sending to be steamed.
Price list for the dim sum.
Big poster in the restaurant.
The restaurant occupied to shoplot with very basic tables and chairs.
Mini Size Char Siu Bao *cute*
Not only the Char Siu Bao was in mini size, the glutinous rice (Lor Mai Gai” also in petite size.
The size of the dim sum here was markedly smaller than what we usually had, taste wise but no complaint for the price we’ve paid 🙂
We also had the bak kut teh which appeared almost on every table 😛 *kiasu*
The colour of the broth was in darker hue and no surprise that it had a strong herbal taste and a tad too overpowering for us.
The mini “Yao Zhar Guai” was fresh, crispy with fluffy inner, pretty good stuff!
We spent 330 baht for the above breakfast, included Chinese tea and some beverages.
Sorry no exact address for this, anyone can help me about this?
