The Grumpy Cyclist @ Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, K.L

Cycling + Coffee = ?

The answer should be “The Grumpy Cyclist”, the first bicycle-themed cafe nestled at Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (T.T.D.I). (Please enlighten me if I’m wrong)

A container smacked right at the front part of the cafe which actually a workshop equipped with tools and fittings. One also can opt for dining here if you don’t mind the poor illumination.

Bicycles and related items adorning the place, also the TV showing cycling race. Too much? It’s a cycle cafe after all~~ Apart from the decors, The Grumpy Cyclist also furnishes with  showers facility for sweaty cyclists 🙂

Large glass panel allow sufficient sunlight to bask the place. Illumination also comes from light bulbs hanging from the ceiling to provide pale yellow hues. Wooden furniture with metal details, cement flooring, white walls and framed paintings, everything combined together making this place a comfy dining environment.

Orders are to be made at the counter referring to the chalkboard menu. (Not really fancy concept like this, give me a hard copy menu please~~)

Always hubby’s choice when come to breakfast menu. A portion that can be shared among his  sweetie pie (unfortunately not me ~>_<~) and himself. Consisted of two slices of multi grain toasts, sunny side up, mushrooms, chicken sausages, baked beans and beef bacons.

Everything was decent and well-executed, I especially adored the portion of the beef bacon given (HUGE!), some might find it too salty but I’m totally okay with it :P) The only gripe was the sauteed mushroom was slightly under seasoned.

Oscar Egg (RM 12.00)

Served on a black plate, the contrast colours of all the components were so attractive to the eyes.

It was actually a mushroom omelet. Unveiled the buttery omelet, the mushroom filling was abundance and I enjoyed immensely the combination of all ingredients.

Verdict: Overall it is a great breakfast/brunch spot, hearty portion with reasonable price range. Read about their best selling pancakes is fabulous, will definitely drop by for it!
