Traveloka and SEA Games

It is now August and I can feel all the patriotic vibes. You can hardly miss all the Malaysian flags that kept popping up while counting down to Merdeka Day on August 31. Even my daughter started to wave her very own Malaysian flag at home every so often.

There is also another reason to be patriotic in the month of August. Malaysia will be the host for the 29th Southeast Asian Games 2017 also known as SEA Games 2017.  To those uninformed readers, SEA Games is a biennial multi-sports event involving athletes from 11 countries of Southeast Asia. The last time Malaysia hosted the SEA Games in 2001, it was Malaysia’s best performance as we emerged as overall champion of the games with a haul of 111 Gold Medals. After 16 years, Malaysia will once again play host to the biggest multi-sports event in the region, equaling Thailand’s record for hosting a total of six SEA Games.

Kuala Lumpur 2017  is the brand name for the coming SEA Games which will take place between 19th to 30th of August 2017. In case you missed the headlines nowadays, Kuala Lumpur 2017 will also feature the first time we have a Minister (Khairy Jamaluddin) and a monarch (Sultan of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin) participating as athletes in the Games.

Also, I just love the cute and eye-catching mascot for Kuala Lumpur 2017 that is inspired by our very own Malayan Tiger named Rimau.  Rimau stands for Respect, Integrity, Move,  Attitude & Unity. He is gracious, friendly, competitive and athletic. Most importantly, Rimau is a true athlete.

As a young mother, I do believe Kuala Lumpur 2017 will be a great way for family bonding as well as teach the young ones on the sportsmanship. I could not believe myself when I browse through the web and found free admissions to numerous sports events during Kuala Lumpur 2017. Do click here for a full list of free admission venues. You can also check out the ticket prices too which are very reasonably affordable.

For those staying outstations or even from other countries, fret not, as you will get special deals and promotions for both flights and hotels during the Kuala Lumpur 2017 from Traveloka. For your information, Traveloka is an emerging travel website that has everything you are looking for including flights and accommodations. Traveloka is also Gold Sponsor for SEA Games 2017. You can also find Traveloka at their booth at Bukit Jalil National Stadium offering interesting activities. The current promotion of hotel and flight discounts of up to 40% is really enticing.

You may also download Traveloka App for the easiest and fastest way of booking cheap flights and hotels.
