Tujo Bar-sserie & Grill @ Ascott Kuala Lumpur
Have you noticed an eye-catching glass house building whenever you pass by Jalan Pinang or to be precise The Ascott Kuala Lumpur? Previously known as 7atenine, Tujo Bar-sserie & Grill is located on the ground floor of the prestigious Ascott Residence in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. With its tagline ” Eat, Live & Play”, this is the place where everybody can come round and just enjoy the simple pleasures in life with good friends over good food, drinks and have loads of laughs. The fun element is going to feature significantly at this new place.
The glass house ~ Tujo
The name of Tujo is a spin on the Malaysian word which stands for the numeric 7 and was selected for its numerological significance in both Western and Eastern culture.
The designer piece of “The Disorganised Front of House Counter” that looks like carpentry gone mad greet the patrons once you step into Tujo
The soaring high glass panels allow plenty of natural flow in and letting the diners enjoy the bustling view of the city.
The decors in Tujo definitely deserves special mention because a lot of thoughts had obviously gone into it. I can’t put down my camera but snap tonnes of photo of the interior, truly mesmerized~
The highlight of the bar~ The huge living plant wall which really imparted a whimsy feel to the whole space.
The interior design of Tujo was conceived by renowned designer Ed Poole who envisioned it as a space that satisfied one inner 60’s fetish.
A teeny-weeny excited when I saw my childhood games on the table ~ the pick-up stick, bottles caps & the batu Seremban. Oppss…am I revealing my age? >.<///
The washroom, can you differentiate? ^__*
I was struck by the array of classic toy collection on display, fancy to own one, do ask the assist from the staff.
Step up the fancy staircase and here we are at the mezzanine floor.
Equally tastefully decorated.
A huge private room to cater all types of functions.
Tujo really have an amazing list of beverages that can satisfy everyone’s need ranging from mojitos, cocktails, shooters, draught beers, bottle beers, wines, champagnes, liqueur, mocktails, detoxifying juices, power drinks to coffee and tea.

Peach Sangria (RM 90.00++/jug)
Eden Melon (RM 35.00++) & Watermelon Mojito (RM 28.00++)
Spring Clean (RM 17.00++)
Lychee Mojito (RM 28.00++)
Asam Boi Mojito (RM 28.00++)
Hazelnut Caipirinha (RM 26.00++)
This was not my first time watching this torching action but still enjoyed it immensely 😛
Illy Crema
Not your usual Illy coffee but a special concoction of rothy & creamy drink that make a non-coffee person sipping this happily.
Crema Screaming Orgasm
Looks can be deceiving, this innocent looking creamy cocktails consist of Vodka, coffee liqueur, almond liqueur and Illy Crema, gave one a immediately kicks in once the first sip is savored!
Tujo’s menu offer wide selection of food; snacks, salad, soup, signature grills, main course, pasta and pizza, sandwiches and desserts. Be prepared for a head scratching moment when you do your ordering 😛
Caesar Salad with Chicken (RM 23.00++)
It had all the necessary requirements of a good Caesar Salad, crisp Romaine lettuce, crunchy croutons, and creamy dressing. One can have this plain or with chicken.
Smoked Duck Salad (RM 23.00++)
A lighter option if compare with the previous salad, lettuce and oranges dressed in a refreshing fruity dressing. The addition of sliced smoked duck gave it a nice smoky flavor.
Oxtail Soup (RM 18.00++)
Bringing surprise that you have not thought of through its appearance. Despite the clear looking broth, it packed with flavors of various herbs and spices which indeed did a good job to warm our tummy.
Napoli Bianco Pizza (RM 32.00++)
Squid ink was being widely used in making of pasta and bread and now Tujo associated it in their pizza dough. This black beauty was crusty and topped with alfredo sauce, homemade meatball and pepperoni.
Malaysiana Pizza (RM 19.00++)
Venison Roll (RM 28.00++)
Tortilla stuffed with minced venison stew with robust taste of spices and chilies which pack a nice fiery punch.
Tujo Stinger Satay (RM 15.00++)
Another novelty creation from the kitchen team, kudos! Two of Malaysians’ favourite street food~ Satay and fruit rojak being combined in one dish! The chicken satay skewers stand on a pineapple base and diced fruits was held in the center. Coated with piquant shrimp paste sauce and pineapple salsa, I think they worked pretty well together 🙂
Seafood Risotto (RM 33.00++)
Coated with a creamy and vibrant tomato sauce, paired with generous amount of seafood, the risotto was good in terms of flavor however the texture of the rice was a tad too hard for my liking but my other partners in crime seem like enjoyed it happily~
Tom Yam Fettuccini (RM32.00++)
A marriage between Thai & Italian 😛 The flavors of the Tom Yam was light and allowed the sweetness of the seafood shone thoroughly.
Ira Malai (RM 45.00++)
Inspired from Indian cuisine, the prawns cooked in spicy coriander gravy and served with pulao rice for a more substantial meal.
Grilled food is Tujo’s signature, so expected nothing but the fabulous selection from the grilling station!
Grilled Porterhouse with Sautéed Creamy Spinach (RM 120.00++ for 400gm)
The most sublime dish of that night! A humongous T-bone grilled to perfection, tender and juicy. The marinade and the meat’s original flavor complement each other so well, the flavors literally burst in my mouth after I bite into them! The carnivores in us rejoice in this indulgent beefy pleasure and I had 3 servings that night!
Chimichurri Chicken (RM 28.00)
If I said this is a “ugly” dish, I guess there will be no objection from you guys right? But….. don’t judge a book by its cover! The Chimichurri was a combination of various spices and it gave the poultry a multitude of flavors which was nothing less than outstanding.
Grilled Seafood Platter (RM 70.00++)
Fresh seafood of prawns, scallops, fish fillet and squid were simply grilled and retained the natural sweetness.
Yes, our stomachs were bloated but there is always room for dessert 😛
Carrot Cake (RM 15.00++)
Crumbly and not too sweet, the carrot cake was my favourite dessert among of others. The noteworthy of this dessert lies in cream cheese frosting, luscious and a lil salty; paired wonderfully with the cake.
Salted Caramel Apple Guava Tart (RM 20.00++)
Apple Banana Sundae (RM 17.00++)
Banana, poached apple, toffee, nuts, chocolate sauce with Haagen Dazs vanilla and chocolate ice cream.
The chef and bartender behind all the wondrous food & beverages.
