Valentine’s Day Dinner @ Em by Tedboy, Hotel Transit, KL
If a romantic Paris trip is not in your budget for the coming Valentine’s Day, why not bring your loved ones to a quaint little place at Pudu for an incredible French meal. The best part is the price is exceptionally friendly to your wallet!
Located opposite Pudu Sentral and nestled in Hotel Transit, Em by Tedboy is the sister of Tedboy Bakery, Bangsar. One can choose to be seated at the long communal table at the hotel lobby watching the busy traffic out there while enjoying your meal. Or push the connecting glass door and enter another section of the restaurant.
Pleasant soft lighting, concrete tile floor, cement walls, several framed artworks adorning the walls and the water feature accompanied by array of potted plants definitely the centerpiece of the design.
Took the metal staircase up and we were led to the garden area with astroturf carpet, transparent roofing, well decorated with framed art pieces, books and hanging potted plants. I like the idea of exposed water pipes as book shelves 🙂
Certainly a rock bottom deal for a 3 course Valentine Dinner priced at only RM168+ for 2 persons!
Pink Lady Cocktail
Let’s kick started the romantic dinner with this beautiful orange-y concoction of Triple sec, cranberry juice, Vodka & lemon juice. Bold in flavor with subtle fruity note, slowly sipped on the cocktail and it definitely set the right mood for that evening.
Canapes
The canapes platter featured wild mushroom soup, prawn on mango salsa, bruschetta with olive spread & rice with herbs.
Fresh Salmon Tartare with Mirepoix in Blood Orange Dressing
Starring a disc of luscious dices of fresh Salmon, capers, onions and seasonings, further prettied up with scattering of mirepoix. The tartare was succulent and tasty with adequate seasonings as well as the accompany of blood orange dressing.
Beetroot & Feta Chantilly Mille-feuille with Pomegranate Dressing
To be honest, this dish didn’t sound appealing to me when I saw it in the menu however I changed my mind after my first bite. Embodied in affectionately cheesy glory, yet not too overwhelming when pairing with mild tasted beetroot slices. The pomegranate dressing with fresh pomegranate seeds, olive and beetroot bits provide a multitude of textures and flavors which was nothing less than outstanding.
Tomato Vodka Granite
The palate cleanser of icy Tomato Vodka Granite was sufficiently refreshing with pleasant tomato tang as well as subtle herbaceous basil taste.
Pan-fried Duck Breast with Raspberry Sauce & Vegetables Tian
Cooked to medium rare with tender and pinkish center, the duck breast was elegantly dressed with appetizing raspberry sauce. The meat was too raw for my liking but I enjoyed immensely the vegetables tian, not oily and the texture and sweetness of the vegetables retained nicely.
Butterfish Fillet with Red Capsicum Coulis, Potatio Gratin & Vegetables Tian
The generous portion of Butterfish fillet was flaky and tender with distinctive “oily” texture. The flesh was sweet and the capsicum coulis complemented it well by cutting through its original richness and “oiliness” of the fish.
Em’s Signature Pavlova
The evening wasn’t complete without some adorable presented dessert. The crisp meringue with chewy middle goes so well with the berries sauce. The various of fruits gave a nice tangy note to the sweet meringue. Definitely a colourfully tempting dessert to end the night.
Mille-feuille with Strawberries
Comprised two layers of flaky, buttery pastry sandwiching creamy Vanilla custard, dressed with fresh strawberries and was accompanied by a tangy berry coulis. This dessert took me to cloud nine. It was not overly sweet, I enjoyed tremendously the contrast textures of crispy puff pastry and velvety custard.
Coffee or tea to end the meal.
With St Valentine’s Day just one week plus away, now is the time to plan if you haven’t made any reservations to wine and dine the love of your life! Valentine’s set at Em by Tedboy simply can create a new romantic and sweet memory with your loved one without burning a hole in your pocket.

Nicely plated and very beautiful. The price is quite reasonable. I’d love the butterfish.
The price is definitely the most affordable among others Valentine’s set meal ^__^
Wah, wish I can be there!! xD
Guess V-day this year is going to be like normal for me, hubby is not keen on celebration T_T
其实爱对了人,每天都是情人节 🙂
我也是不爱庆祝情人节的人,原因很现实~~就是不要花钱买难受 ~>_<~
This V-set certainly looks to be one that’s less pressing on the wallet but I may end up having to eat both sets to be fully satiated…lol! 😀
Both you and hubby and eat different food, so you can sample all the food 🙂
This is definitely the most affordable among others Valentine’s set meal ^__^
