VCR @ Jalan Galloway, KL
Coffee? Hmmm…….Cake? Yes! Let’s go in!
Don’t expect to see a large or obvious signboard of this cafe, this is their signboard, yes this small! But don’t worry, one will not miss the old shoplot being painted with mysterious black which is very outstanding among the rest.
Push the heavy door and I was greeted by chatters of the crowd and pleasant aroma of coffee. This place was packed to the brim on that Sunday afternoon as expected because scenes/images of this cafe has been widely spread on social media networks since its opening.
The long and narrow space was efficiently filled with natural light thanks to the wide panel windows at ground floor.
Took the wooden staircase to upper floor, we were lead to another space with plenty of natural lights penetrated from the floor-to-ceiling glass window.
The balcony was fully utilized too, transformed into a sky garden with artificial grass and wooden benches.
Another open space further in and there was a bridal shower party going on that day. We were seated at one of the rattan armchairs and low table, not the best seating honestly but I truly enjoyed the laid back vibe here.
The interior of VCR emphasized on simplicity, no fancy decoration but gave a relax and comfortable ambiance for a great chit-chat session over a good cuppa.
Self-service drinking water.
Cappuccino (RM 10.00)
Came with a decent coffee art, the cappuccino was a tad too milky for hubby’s liking.
The Tapping Tapir Soda
I had The Tapping Tapir natural soda Orange & Jasmine flavor which came with acidity of citrus with slightly bitterness towards the end.
The King (RM 12.00)
A banana sponge cake layered with banana and a spread of chocolate and coated with peanut butter cream and topped with crushed peanuts. The cake was nothing less than spectacular ~from the lethal combination of banana and chocolate to the rich and creamy peanut butter and crunchy peanut. It definitely deserved the name suggested ~The King, with the perfect balance of richness and sweetness which I think really went well with coffee.
Ah…a blessed and well spent Sunday~~

The King 好像有点…缩水了?
是吗? 通货膨胀,没办法,可怜了我们这些消费者 🙁
Nice place!!
Jodie and I will definitely visit this.
I am especially interested with “The King” probably because of the similar name.

I like The King cake. Saw same cake available in The Good Batch during recent visit though.
VCR used to have less crowd, now it’s always crowded due to internet power. (most of the cafes too, right?) XD
