Wagyu More @ The Gardens Mall

I need to be frank with you all.

I am still salivating over the excellent Wagyu experience at Wagyu More while writing this post. The brilliant decision to add such premium meat for Shabu-Shabu dining really elevated it to a whole new level.

The Hong Kong-based Wagyu More has fanned out into Malaysia, offers All-You-Can-Eat Japanese Shabu-Shabu with unlimited supply of beef, pork, chicken as well as a variety of vegetables, meatballs, hot food, drinks and desserts.

Originated from Hong Kong, Wagyu More was established in the year of 2014 and the first restaurant is located in the heart of the bustling town – ShaTin. Its first flagship restaurant in Malaysia was officially stationed in The Gardens Mall on 31 August 2018.

One can certainly feel the cheerfulness when stepping into the restaurant with colourful mural of Wagyu More’s mascots – Red More and Blue More as well as other cute characters. The place is spacious and well sectioned into different dining areas with adequate space to walk around.

Price started as low as RM28.80++ for weekday set lunch (11.00am to 5.00pm) for single plate meat with choices of chicken, pork and beef, and free-flow of meatballs, vegetables, drinks, ice-cream and desserts.

All-You-Can-Eat Buffet is priced at RM36.80++ per person during lunch time (from 11.00am to 5.00pm) and RM44.80++ during dinner time (from 5.00pm to 10.00pm). There will be additional RM3.00++ for weekends and public holidays.

Wagyu More also serves three Premium Buffets (All Day) that are bound to further elevating customers’ dining experience:
• Spanish Iberico Pork Buffet at RM98.80++
• Australian Wagyu Buffet at RM148.80++
• Japanese A5 Wagyu Buffet at RM388.80++

For children below the age of 12 and within the height of 90cm – 120cm will enjoy 50 percent off, whereas senior Citizens aged 60 years old and above will enjoy 20 percent, for all packages. The time limit of dining is 120 minutes.

Ready-to-eat hot food station – we had Wagyu fried rice, stir fried vegetable, curry samosa and spring roll that day.

The self service hotpot ingredients counter was filled with variety of vegetables, mushrooms and noodles.

More choices like seafood (dinner time only), assorted meat balls, bean curd, sausages and udon were available too.

Beverage station – soft drinks, teas and coffee are included in the price and beer can be purchased as an add on.

You hotpot experience can further be enjoyed with the array of sauces and condiments such as two types of Wagyu More’s signature chili sauce, sesame sauce, grated daikon, minced garlic, fried onion and others.

Wagyu More serves eight varieties of soup base namely Kombu, Sukiyaki, Miso, Tomato, Pork Bone, Spicy Pork Bone, Kimchi and Japanese Curry. Customers can choose up to two soup bases as they have both single and communal pots.

The kitchen team will also comes up with specially crafted Soup of the Month which only available for limited period. For the month of April, diners can enjoy this extremely appetizing Tamarind Pineapple Soup (left pot) which went really well with all kinds of meat (additional RM4.80++ per pot).  We also tried their spicy pork bone, pretty interesting I would say. The broth was nicely infused with pork bone essence with mild spiciness.

My dining companions had the tangy tomato soup and pork bone soup, a safe bet for hotpot which well received by both adults and kids.

The highlight of the hotpot meal undoubtedly was the meat offered.

Australian beef chuck roll, Australian beef chunk roll,

US pork loin, imported pork belly and imported pork collar.

All the meat is sliced upon order to maintain the freshness of the meat as well as provide the best meat texture to diners. It’s definitely worth that little waiting time.

If the price of the Premium Buffets is too heavily on your pocket, ala-carte menu with option of premium meats is available too.

Japanese A5 Wagyu Beef (RM88.80++ / plate)

There are some grades for Wagyu beef, and A5 is the highest grade given only to the finest beef which has excellent marbling, meat color, texture and fat quality. With robust yet incredibly delicate marbling, Japanese A5 Wagyu is one of the most revered beef in the world. The meat had a beautiful marbling rendered more beefy flavour and the fat layer will literally melt away in your mouth before you even get a chance to chew. It’s recommended not to overcook the beef to enjoy this highly prized meat at its best!

Australian Wagyu Beef (RM32.80++/plate)

A more affordable choice but not compromise on the quality. The beef was tender with rich-tasting finish, certainly another good option for beef lovers!

Spanish Iberico Pork (RM22.80++/plate)

Iberico is a breed of pork originating from Spain and Portugal, and is often referred to as Wagyu of Pork! This Spanish Iberico Pork offered a sweet and exquisite flavor comes from the luscious fat. It has a super delicate and tender texture and which really can elevate your hotpot experience.

Seafood Platter (RM28.80++/plate)

Prawns, scallops and mussels (4pcs each).

How many plates of meat you can indulge? (^∀^)

If your tummy still have space to spare, head on over to the dessert station for some muachi, cakes and soft serve ice cream.
