Xiang Ji Satay House @ Melaka
On one of my Melaka trip, I was brought to Xiang Ji Satay House for some porky satay. When we mention satay at Melaka, the infamous Satay Celup would be the first that comes into mind. But to be honest, this delicacy doesn’t pique my interest at all.
Arrived at Xiang Ji slightly before lunch hour and the boss (I assumed) was busy grilling the satay in a partitioned “glass room”.
The dining area
The charcoal stove grilled pork skewers were spot on, well marinated with a cut of fat sandwiched in the middle that provide sufficient “moist” to the palate. I like the peanut sauce with appetizing hint of sourness (pineapple is added, I assumed again LOL) and would beat the Kajang satay’s peanut sauce.
We also had the pork liver and chicken satay and they were perfectly grilled. I didn’t try the pork liver satay but the chicken satay definitely worth a try.
They offered otak-otak too but it was forgettable.
Check out another pork satay I’ve tried at Melaka HERE.
Verdict: Recommended!

I have never tried pork satay like this. Feel so hungry reading this post. LOL!
PH, Melaka’s satay always smaller in size if compared with Klang Valley’s version.
Yes, I like those kuah kacang with added pineapple sauce! ^o^ I need my skewers a little bit more caramelised. ^_~
Kris, pineapple definitely the magical boozy!
Waa…I must put in my list! Hopefully get to try it.
Mel, try it!
i love my hometown’s pork and liver satay – i could eat 20 sticks of the liver! wish we could find it in kl 🙂
Sean, Melaka’s satay is smaller in size, I have no problem finish 20 sticks as well!
