Yen Can Cook: Ginger Miso Pork
Another dish that goes well with rice, if you are on low carb diet, you better leave now, haha! According to the recipe book I’ve referred to, this dish is a popular bento dish at Japan. Slightly similar with the Sesame Miso Pork Belly I’ve whipped up previously but ginger is used this recipe for a refreshing gingery flavor.
240g sliced pork
1/4 onion, sliced
1/4 carrot, julliend
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon ginger paste
2 tablespoon soy sauce
2 tablespoon mirin
1 tablespoon sake
1 tablespoon miso
Step 1: Mix all the marinade ingredients and marinate the sliced pork for 2-3 hours.
Step 2: In a frying pan, heat up the oil then stir fry the onion and carrot until slightly soften. Set aside.
Step 3: In the same frying pan (Step 2), put in marinated sliced pork. Cook until slightly browned on one side then only flip over and continue to cook another side.
Step 4: Return carrot and onion (Step 2) into pan as well as spring onion. Do a few quick stirs and dish up.
Tips: Can substitute with other vegetables such as cabbage.
