Yen Can Cook: Stir Fry Choy Sum with Beef
A really quick post today of my “Everyday” vegetables stir fry recipe 😛
Why “Everyday”? Because basically I’ll prepare similar vegetables stir fry almost everyday with different combination of vegetables and meat. LOL Veggie is a must-have item for a balanced meal. You may also use up all veggies–bits and pieces that you haven’t used throughout the week for this vegetables stir fry.
Ingredients (Serve: 2-3)
200g beef, sliced
300g Choy Sum, trimmed
3 tablespoons oyster sauce
3 tablespoons water
4 cloves garlic, minced
Cooking oil
Marinade
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 tablespoons soy sauce
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 1: In a bowl combine all marinade ingredients then marinate sliced beef for 10-15 minutes.
Step 2: Heat up a pan in really high heat, once pan is smoking add a small amount of oil then once oil is hot add beef in and cook for 1-2 minutes. Dish and set aside.
Step 3: Sauté minced garlic on the same pan until fragrant, add vegetables, water and oyster sauce. Stir fry for a minute or until vegetables are just wilted, add in beef (Step 2) and continue stir fry for 30 seconds. Turn heat off then serve.
HAPPY COOKING!
Very nice stir fry dish. I also like vegetables fried together with either pork or chicken.
PH, but I will cook plain vegetables stir fry most of the time 😛
I would never have thought of stir-frying choy sum with beef…until now. My idea of a vegetable stir-fry would be just choy sum only….hihihi! ^_*
Kris, that’s what I normally did all the time but when there is no meat dish on that day, I’ll just add in protein in my vegetable dish 🙂
So nice. My kind of meal except I usually use chicken or prawns as William doesn’t eat beef.
Merryn, but normally my vegetables stir fry is always plain vegetables without any meat 😛
i like your attention to detail, including using flowers for decoration beside the plate! 🙂
Sean, very lousy decoration, wild flowers plucked from road sides, haha!
