Mooncake Delight @ Ee Chinese Cuisine, Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya
The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most important festival celebrated by Chinese all over the world on 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese Calender. The festival is for lunar worship and also for all family members and friends to get together to savor the indispensable delicacy ~ mooncake.
Every year, Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya have not missed celebrating this festival ever since the Ee Chinese Cuisine opened its doors since 15 years ago. This year Chef Yong Kam Wah and his team have come up with assortment of delectable baked and snow skin mini mooncake of variety fillings.
With more than 15 flavours for guests to choose from such as traditional pandan paste, lotus paste as well as exotic fillings like the Dragon Fruit paste, white coffee and corn, chocolate to suite the modern palates.
Pandan Paste with Single Yolk (低糖单黄香叶莲蓉月饼)
Supreme Mixed Nuts (金华伍仁月饼)
The baked mooncake range comprising the traditional pure lotus paste, low sugar white lotus paste, panda paste, red bean paste, corn with or without salted egg yolk and supreme mixed nuts. I have never a fan of lotus paste mooncake lover as I always found that the filling is too sickening sweet for me but Ee’s version has just the right sweetness and make me feel less guilty on my sugar intake 🙂
The Supreme Mixed Nuts consisted of fresh crunchy mixed nuts, candied melon and Chinese ham. The combination gave it a great contrast of textures and flavors which was nothing less than outstanding.
Also newly added this year is the Kei Zi Dong Guai (杞子当归) filling mooncake which definitely score point for its novelty! Do try this if you are adventurous enough!
Jasmine Cheesy Citrus (茶香柠果芝士月饼)
Mini mooncakes have been gaining its own fan base and popularity in recent years in view of its exquisite and petite appearance. Ee Chinese Cuisine also offering assorted petite size baked and snow skin mooncakes for its easy consumption pattern.
Special Mini Crystal Durian Paste (冰皮榴莲月饼)
Taking the center stage of this year definitely is this Special Crystal Durian Paste mini mooncake which is special edition to commemorate the Hotel’s 15th year anniversary celebration! Using the luxury Musang King durian as filling, the thrilling aroma was intoxicating and I was amazed by the generous amount of the fresh durian flesh! Every mouthful was a purely enjoyment!
The mooncakes are beautifully presented in custom designed gift box and top-carrier bags which is great as gift.
Savour these delicate delights from only RM 10+ per piece and from RM 80+ per box which are available from 12 August -19 September 2013 for take-away and dine-in as well.

I love mooncake! I have finished 4 big one by myself already, hehehe.
Yer, 听到都”zai”了… >.< 你很爱月饼哦。。
We had similar moon cakes too but unfortunately, we get to sample 6 flavors only and were told that Eastin PJ has more choices as compared to PG’s 🙁
No need to compare lah, as long as all is good in flavors! ^__*
I am still thinking whether to get the durian (musang king) mooncake this year..hehe
You decide yourself but 1 thing I know is the durian mooncakes are EXPENSIVE!
我喜欢吃冰皮!粉红色的好可爱哩!
冰皮冷冷的,比较好入口 😛
Love to try the Musang King Durian mooncake. Looks so delicious and refreshing
Yes, it is incredibly yummy, the filling if full of durian flesh!
I think the Jasmine CHeesy Citrus is the top choice among us all… 🙂
Actually I’ll or us (except u) choose the durian 1, haha!
Used to like mooncake a lot, but the assorted variety nowadays is a bit too much for my liking.
Then just choose the most traditional baked mooncakes 🙂
