Two Sons Bistro @ The Starling Mall, P.J

I heard about Two Sons Bistro since they first opened in Publika and their signature mussels and clams dishes have been receiving positive responses from netizens which I always wanted to try. But my visit to this restaurant only happened a couple of months ago and guess what, I did not manage to try the aforementioned signature dishes! (ʘᗩʘ’)

It was my usual gathering with mom and sisters, as well as their family. We initially planned to have breakfast at one of the restaurant in Damansara Uptown, but it was closed for private function. So we settled ourselves in The Starling Mall and opted for Two Sons Bistro as it was one of the restaurants that open earlier for breakfast.

The restaurant certainly had the feel of spaciousness and the dining area was sectioned into two areas by the “kitchen island” cabinet. The front part was overlooking the mall’s walkway while the second section was well illuminated by the sunlight flow in from the large glass windows.

Since we were there early for breakfast, the staff presented us the breakfast menu which is available daily from 10am to 3pm.

Big Breakfast Platter (RM35.00)

The breakfast platter comprised egg of your choice of scrambled egg, poached egg or sunny side up, toast, sausages, beef or turkey bacon, sauteed mushroom, salad, hash brown, baked beans, a shot glass of vitamin-c booster. Nothing to shout about, just some standard processed food that commonly offered for big breakfast. The vitamin-c booster tasted sourish with light sweetness, nice to awake your appetite for the most important meal of the day!

From the classic breakfast category, there were also options of Egg & Toast (RM9), Salmon Scramble (RM18), Mushroom Omelette (RM18)Caramelized Banana Pancakes (RM16). Nutella French Toast (RM18), Smoked Salmon On Toast (RM21) and Avocado Toast(RM18).

The Ultimate (RM28.00)

Another category from the breakfast menu was Breakfast In Bread which offered white or charcoal bread bowl. Expect to see choices such as Egg Benedict (RM25), Vegetarian (RM19), Hangover Remedy (RM21) and Bacan & Egg (RM23).

My choice of bread bowl was fully loaded with beef bacon, chorizo, tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, topped with egg, melted cheese and Hollandaise sauce. This definitely a princely portion which can be shared by two small eaters or a very filling meal for one. 😛

Bacon and Egg (RM23.00)

Filled with beef bacon and spinach, crowned with an egg but it looked miserably failed with fully cooked egg yolk. >_<

♥Verdict: The food we had were just run-of-the-mill and nothing really excited us. Service was a bit slow although the restaurant was quite vacant on that day. Revisit? I’m afraid, not.
