Korean Wang BBQ Center @ SS2, P.J

I have chance to meet or know many new friends who shares a common love for FOOD since I start blogging. FOOD brings us together, we will share information of the good food (bad food also :P) that we’ve tried in social media such as FB, blog and Instagram. So when I saw him share an incredible deal of a Korean restaurant at SS2, P.J, I can’t resist the temptation and dragged hubby to dine in there the following day ^__^

You may ask what’s the deal? Read carefully!

Family set for 4 -5 person: Pork Bulgogi + Haemul Pa Jeon + Sundubu Jjigye + Tteokbokki + Rice + Gyeranjjim + Side dishes for ONLY RM 59.00!! Totally a rock-bottom deal, isn’t it?

We were there on a Saturday evening and the place was rather vacant, this made me quite skeptical to step in 😛  But I trust his words anyway, because he is quite a picky eater, haha!

The restaurant is not big but the tables arrangement make this place looks spacious and airy. Tables not too cramped, brightly lit, simple and no frills setting.

Complimentary drink water was served after we placed the order.

Followed by refillable banchan (side dish), variety was not as many as other Korean restaurants though.

Pork Bulgogi

The first item arrived was this huge pot of Pork Bulgogi. Served on a metal domed shape hotpot with “moat”, the thin pork slices were placed on the domed shape grill while the “moat” was filled with broth and ingredients such as mung bean noodles, enoki mushrooms, julliend carrots, onions and spring onions.

The restaurant staff helped us on the grilling while we just sit back and enjoy the meal. The meat was non marinated, slightly monotonous on flavor, it could be better if marinated meat is used. The broth on the other hand was good, light with hint of sweetness, I especially enjoyed the mung bean noodles that absorbed all the flavors, very slurpicious indeed.

Sundubu Jjigye

The tofu stew was very thick, flavorful and slightly spicy. Filled with tofu, mushroom, kimchi and mouth-watering strips of thinly sliced pork bellies. I like it not too spicy which I can literally polished off the broth until the last drop, hehe ^__^

Tteobokki

Came in a sizable portion, the gravy had a right balance of spiciness and sweetness brimming with chewy rice cakes, fish cakes, cabbage, carrot and spring onion then topped with a hard boiled egg.

Gyeranjjim

Korean style steamed egg, generously studded with chopped capsicum, carrot and spring onions however it was slightly overcooked.

Haemul Pa Jeon

The last dish served was my favourite seafood pancake. This can cost more than RM20 and above if order ala carte in a Korean restaurant, so this dish alone already made the set a well worthy one! It was served hot and fresh and filled with fresh ingredients such as prawns, squids, and abundance of green onions. It was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, I was really stuffed that time but just can’t resist to sample one piece. As per expected, we can’t finish the whole pancake and ended up took away the balance. ^__*

Verdict: The portion definitely worth every penny paid and best to be shared among 3-4 persons. Not sure is this set still available but this place certainly worth to check out as the other items in the menu are very reasonably priced too.
