Warung Dedari @ Baturiti, Bali

After our visit to the Pura Taman Ayun and Pura Ulun Danu Beratan (will blog about this later), we had lunch at Warung Dedari before checking in to our second hotel.


Like those typical Balinese restaurant, Warung Dedari has a beautiful garden facade and we were greeted by music performance when we entering the main dining area.


The semi al-fresco dining area is furnished with sturdy wooden tables and chairs, decorated with Balinese parasols and sashes. The place seem spacious but it was a bit warm as I didn’t see any fan was equipped here.


We saw a man-made lake when we walked further in, with a big Balinese statue placed in the middle of it.


The lake is surrounded by many wooden huts with floor seating jutting out on to the water, set amongst the lush greenery.


Of course we opted to be seated in the hut for a more unique dining experience. Knock on the bamboo bell if you need any assist from the wait staff.


There are a lot of fishes in the lake although the water not the cleanliest I’ve seen (LOL) but it still a delightful experience to be able to dine outdoor with soothing natural surrounding. Oh ya, if  you scare of insects or small reptile, (eg: lizard >_<), this hut seating is not for you ╮(╯_╰)╭


Garden with beautiful landscapes, pathways and there is even a small playground for the little ones. 


They have quite an extensive menu that comprised essential Balinese cuisine and small selection of Western food such as pasta and chicken chop.

Watermelon Juice (IDR 25k) & Coconut (IDR 25k)


Complimentary steamed tapioca, I would have appreciated a serving of sugar to enhance the flavor. (・ω<)


Spaghetti Bolognese (IDR 69k)

Ok, food that appears the most frequent in my blog, my followers should know whose order was this. ╮(╯_╰)╭


Sate Ayam (IDR 60k)

Served with a side of French fries, the chicken skewers were a bit on dry side. Flavour wise, there was a savoury saucy coating on the meat and the dipping sauce was not as peanut-ty as ours.


Bebek Goreng (IDR 89k)

It’s a platter comprised of rice, Gado Gado (vegetables in peanut dressing), three types of chili dipping and quarter of deep fried duck.

The duck was deep fried to a nice crispy finish, although the meat was a bit dry (expected because it’s not a fat duck so not much fat layer to “moist” the meat) but still acceptable. Flavour was good and very well marinated. Like what I’ve mentioned previously in THIS post, the duck skin was not thoroughly cleaned too with tiny feathers still attached. The vegetable salad was nothing to shout about though.


Ayam Kampung Bakar (IDR 79k)

Served with same condiments as the above duck dish, the quarter chicken was equally well executed. The grilled Ayam Kampung (free range chicken) was delicious with subtle hint of smokiness and topped with sauce (not too much though) and chopped chili, lemongrass, onion, ginger and pepper. 


Tumis Kangkung (IDR 20k)

For the vegetable quota~~ (^v^)


Among the three types of chili dipping provided, I like this the most. It came with fresh chili, onion, and perhaps dried shrimps which really hitting the palate with nice fiery kick. I find this chili dipping was so addictive, I kept on enjoying spoonful of it happily with everything and I even requested second helping of it!


All prices are excluded 10% tax.

Verdict: Although weather was really hot but I enjoyed immensely my dining session at Warung Dedari in terms of food, service and environment. If we had a grouch, it would be the annoying flies that had been attracted by our delicious food which is inevitable for outdoor dining.
