Wood & Steel @ The Strand, Kota Damansara
Cafe hopping has become one of the regular weekend activity of us and one that we visited by chance was Wood & Steel. Located at The Strand, Kota Damansara facing Giant Hypermarket, Wood & Steel adopted a unique feature of cafe cum furniture & art gallery.
The narrow space was fully utilized with tables and chairs are cramped within the shop area. The place was filled with earsplitting noise from the crowds & music playing when our visit (1st photo) and the emptied space when we leave (below)
Lighting fixtures made from steel pipe, quirky wooden shelves and art pieces adorning the cafe, definitely a kind of setting that encourage me to pick up my camera & start shooting around 😛
A tiny performance stage, perhaps there is performance take place occasionally?
Self-service ordering at the counter referring to the black chalkboard menu hung on the wall. #idontliketheconcept

Complimentary drinking water
Latte (RM 10.00)
If my memory serves me correctly, the latte did not impress hubby even though I read good reviews on their coffee .
Garlic Bread (RM 5.00)
Hmm….nothing to shout about 😛
Egg Sandwich (RM 10.00)
A rather hearty portion for that price tag. Served in a rustic aluminum plate, the sandwich was an ensemble of crispy toasted bread with fried egg and crisp vegetables and slathered with mayonnaise. Also accompanied was some potato chips.
Verdict: I rather enjoy the food here (no comment on the coffee though as I don’t drink it) but not the over-packed environment.

I don’t like chips with sandwich, i would prefer some healthier options, sandwiches are meant to be healthy no?
Maybe you can ask for other options for side 😛
came here once but wasn’t impressed by the food and drinks neither. Probably the only thing I enjoy was taking photos haha
The food didn’t wow me too, just mediocre for me but the price was really affordable though~
I also found to be always crowded, although I don’t know why. I live just opposite this place! 🙂
I’ve been several times for lunch, found their food sub-par and stopped going. As for coffee, I prefer the outlet directly opposite (Cosan’s Kota Damansara) which has AWESOME single origin coffee and (relatively) cheap pour overs. Their coffee is awesome compared to Wood & Steel, don’t know what the fuss is about this place, maybe coz it’s halal so it attracts a larger demographic than the non-halal places (which serves coffee + alcohol or some combination).
I love your photos though!
Oh Cosans Coffee, I never been but heard that they open until quite late. Thanks for your recommendation, will definitely try it if got chance 🙂
Found good single origin coffee at Thirty Seconds 🙂
Our latest brunch place 🙂
Came here on a weekday night. Place was empty but had to wait for an hour at least before any food came. Waiters not really friendly. The starters came last after all the main food and food wasn’t good. Very disappointing
Hargeet Singh, sorry to hear about your bad experience~
