Mayflower Grande Hotel, Hatyai
I had a short trip (3D2N) to Hatyai with family early June this year and we were recommended to stay at Mayflower Grande Hotel by sister’s friend whose travel there frequently.
Mayflower Grande Hotel is only 20 minutes drive from Haadyai International Airport and very strategically located near Lee Garden shopping mall and surrounding markets.
The check-in counter at lobby.
Sofas at waiting area.
Cyber Cafe
Free WIFI available in the hotel room but the signal was a bit weak.
Standard Room
Fairly spacious with a King size bed, not the most comfortable I’ve tried but good enough to ensure a good night’s rest. The room was wooden floored, equipped with an old CRT TV, electrical kettle (but no coffee/tea provided), room safe and hair dryer.
PS: Little grumbling ~ The room had a terrible smell of cigarette smoke once we entered the room >_<///
We got a connected room at the corner which was an extra “bonus” as Sam can play with her cousin and grandma stayed next door.
The not-so-comfortable chairs in our room. My mom’s room next door has an extra set of sofa.
Mini bar with chargeable drinks. FOC bottle water will be provided daily.
Bathroom with bathtub and the shower head is over the bathtub which I don’t like and not convenient at all.
Basic toiletries was provided but I rather bought mine from the convenient shop located just across the road.
View from our room.
Lee Garden located diagonally opposite Mayflower Grande Hotel.
Verdict: Location definitely the main attraction for this hotel, easy access to nearby shopping area (Lee Garden and markets), street food stalls are abundance within the walking distance. Massage centre, eateries and convenient shop also can be found around the hotel area. The condition of the room was acceptable and worth the $ we paid.
There are also a few hotels located at same area which I most probably will try on if I travel to Hatyai again.

haven’t been back to Hatyai in ages… time to revisit soon!
Yeah, go go go!
I know where this hotel located but never stayed here before. Looks good, maybe the next trip I will like to consider it.

Regarding the price, if not mistaken is less than RM100 as we got some discount from the driver we booked 🙂

The room look clean and spacious. Most important is the convenient location.

ooo, i’ve not visited hatyai before, though my family has. this looks like a really nice place to stay. a good place to return to after a long day, very spacious 😀
I’m so surprise that many people haven’t been to Hatyai although it is so near to us ^_^
I just came back from Hatyai weeks ago and actually walked past that hotel. Thanks for sharing the interior. Nice!!
I have been blogging a series of my Hatyai visits. Later today will show the final part 3. Come and visit me!!!
Of course, I never miss to visit your blog, interesting blog indeed :)(or should I say funny :P)
i have not been to Haatyai for more than 10 years already.. to me, as long as the hotel is clean and tidy, it really doesn’t need to be luxury at all.. comfort is most important 🙂
Ya, agreed, comfort for a good rest after all the walking 😛

Just came back fr Hatyai.
Avoid avoid avoid Mayflower.
Staff not friendly – cannot extend check-out time – room smelly and water marks near the air con vent – toilet tiles groove stains.
Worst to come.
They charged us THB50 for breaking a drinking glass which we did not even touch. We went to check with the housekeeping and can’t understand what they were talking as they spoke in Thai. Brought down the glass (still wrap in plastic bag) to the check out counter, told them we did not use the glass, they still insisted we pay. For heaven’s sake. Why would we use the glass when there is no tea making facilities. Told them that we bought bottled mineral water and drink straight from the bottle. Asked to see the manager, but chief cashier said on leave and insisted that we pay.
Usually we stay at the hotel opposite, but since there are a lot of good reviews, we tot we will give it a try. This will be the first and last time.
Totally agreed that the manager is not friendly. Saw her when checking in.
Heard that New Season Hotel is sister hotel. Don’t know how true.
So sorry heard about your not-so-good experience and hope the hotel can make improvement on that~
