>Traditional English Hi Tea @ Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Bangkok
It’s end of the year, after a whole year of hardwork, how would you pamper yourself? I’ve chosen to have a “shop+eat therapy” trip @ Bangkok!!! Boy, it’s a great therapy session!!
One of the highlights was an English Hi Tea session at Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Bangkok! FYI, I’ve tried to reserve a table prior to my arrival at Bangkok but the restaurant only entertains walk-in customer π

We took the free hotel shuttle boat from Sathorn Bridge Pier

Colonel style building & statue at the back yard garden

The Author’s Lounge is the place to have our Traditional English Hi Tea.
You can choose to have your Hi Tea at selected section of the place.

Good looking antique book cabinet

One of the seats overlooking the garden of the restaurant.
Here come the most popular location to have your Hi Tea. It’s at the centre of Author’s Lounge. You will know why when you view the photos below π

Splendid colonel style architecture in bright white theme

“Peacock” rattan chairs which really look elegant

When we arrived, this section is fully occupied but luckily we need not wait for long to get our table.

Menu in a book. Read the history in it~
– The name βAuthorsβ Loungeβ evolved from the many famous writers who stepped through the doors of Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok over the years, from Joseph Conrad to Barbara Cartland. –

The above photo consist of TWO sets of English Hi Tea (THB 1050 / set including a pot of tea) It’s a really small portion huh…. =.=”

Wide variety of tea to choose from

Clotted cream & fruit jam for the scone

The texture of the scone very similar to bread~

The bottom level of the set consist of savory sandwiches & chicken pie

Second level was some opera cakes, strawberry tarts, berries mousse , cream brulee & chocolate cakes

Creme brulee have slightly ginger taste, love this the most!

Shortbread cookies, fruit cakes, butter cakes & macadamia cookies on the top level
The food didn’t really impressed us but the relaxing ambiance & the great architecture did “wow” us!!! We truly enjoyed our traditional English Hi Tea here with the old world charm ~~

Me posing happily on the Peacock chair π
