Restoran Tepi Sungai
After we checked out from Sentosa Villa, we went to Taiping Zoo for a quick tour, since not many photo taken so I’m not going to blog about it 😛 It almost lunch time when we leave Taiping Zoo and we headed Kuala Sepatang for lunch as planned after some research before our trip.
Kuala Sepetang is a coastal town located in Perak and formerly known as Port Weld.It is a thriving fishing village and has a few restaurant which serve excellent seafood!
Located on the first floor of this “fresh seafood market” where the fishing boats were docking just right behind.
Restoran Tepi Sungai, quite literally, as the restaurant is right beside the river.
View of the jetties & river.
Dining area overlooking the beautiful scenery of the river.
Hubby & I took turn carried Sam like this throughout our lunch because she slept before we arrived Kuala Sepatang & not willing to wake up no matter how we tickled her ~.~
Baby Squid (RM 12.00)
We started off our meal with this deep fried baby squids then coated with caramelized sweet sauce. The baby quid was super crunchy & the sticky sweet sauce was moreish too, a good jaw exercise indeed 😛
Kangkung with Belacan (RM 8.00)
Decent and fried with lots of “wok hei”. I love this with the tiny dried shrimps & the vegetables still remain crunchy without being overcooked.
Steamed Mantis Prawn (RM 28.00)
The mantis prawn was sold according to its size & we opted for L size. The simplest method of steaming with soy sauce to bring out the natural sweetness of the crustacean. The flesh was undeniable sweet & firm, topped with fried garlic to enhance the flavor for it! Simply satisfactory!
The live mantis prawns in aquarium.
This is how they “kill” the mantis prawns 😛
What do these called?
Verdict: Good food with reasonable price. It’s advisable to make reservation before come because it was full house when we were there.
