A Jié Cafe 阿洁白咖啡茶坊 @ Ipoh
With high anticipation, we visited one of the must eat places at Ipoh – the original Pasir Pinji Big Tree Choong Kee Yong Tau Foo 忠记大树头炸料粉 for my favourite Sar Kok Liu (yambean fritter). We visited the other one right beside previously and being told that it was not the original shop ╮(╯_╰)╭ To my dismay, the used to be memorable delicacy was a huge letdown. The fritter was oily, bland and the filling was terribly starchy, I will not waste my “Ipoh food quota” here anymore!
After the disappointing lunch, we walked to car park and when we just about to leave that area, we spotted this corner shop which occupied by a cafe. Hubby need his coffee fix, so we went in.
The cafe was casual and comfy, I love the space was illuminated by ample of sunlight from the huge glass window. This place certainly exuded a very oriental sense with all the Chinese paintings and calligraphy, mix and match vintage rattan chairs, sofas and wooden furniture.
There were also impressive collection of antique Chinese tea pot sets, earthware, potteries, vintage rooster bowls and tiffin carriers.
The private room with a few tables was well decorated with colourful mural of Nanyang style heritage house facade.
The simple one page menu coffees, teas, simple snacks and a few staples.
Kong’s White Coffee (RM3.90)
Good aroma with satisfying sweet taste of caffeine.
Red Date Tea (RM3.90), Kaya & Butter Steamed Bread (RM2.90)
Operating hours.
Verdict: Not many options for beverage and food but it’s a pleasant space (not as crowded as other famous coffee place and it’s air-conditioned ) to seek shelter for an hour or two.

The decor look more exciting than the food. At least you were not disappointed like at the first place.
PH, but we are stuffed from the food we had at the 1st place, or else we can try more their food also >_<
哇!白咖啡的泡沫好浓厚,隔着屏幕也觉得香滑可口的劲。(白咖啡控is me!!)
Eugein, 对啊,这杯咖啡的泡沫超高的, 但我不喝咖啡啦, 只拍照 😛
The first photo of the cafe resembles someone’s house….I even see a rotan hanging…hahaha! ;D I’m a little confused about the white coffee…the cafe’s name is A Jie but the signboard says Chang Jiang White Coffee. The glass partition says Nanyang White Coffee while the menu mentions Kong’s White Coffee. So, which white coffee is it exactly? 😛 I’ve tried Chang Jiang white coffee before in KL but didn’t like it.
Kris, from the story in the FB page, Ah Jie is the current owner which is the daughter of the founder of Chang Jiang Kopitiam @ Ipoh. Then Ah Jie created her own coffee brand Kong’s White Coffee and re-branded the kopitiam to Ah Jie Cafe. Too bad the story in FB is in Chinese, or else you can read it there. 🙂
from outside, the place looks like an office – inside, it’s quite lovely! 🙂
Sean, office? Not really looks like lah, hehe 😛
Wah that kopi looks so delicious, it’s 730am here, pls give me a cup!
KY, sorry I don’t drink coffee and don’t know how to make coffee also, LOL
I remember we had a cabinet like in the 7th photo. Once upon a time…. LOL
Kathy, so where is it now?
