SureStay by Best Western Iconic Ari-Jatujak @ Bangkok
It has been more than 10 years since my last travelled to the City of Angels – Bangkok, Thailand. I always wanted to go back to this shopping and dining paradise but due to hubby’s busy work schedule, the plan was delayed until he told me had to attend an event in Bangkok at the end of April. This certainly a timely work trip because Sam was in her midst of her semester break which was until beginning of May and this meant we would be tagged along to the trip! ゚+。:.゚ヽ(*´∀`)ノ゚.:。+゚
We arrived Bangkok prior to the event, hence we had to book our accommodation for that day. The process was swift since we already knew which area we wanted to stay.
We did not have a specific itinerary for this 5D4N trip and hubby only could join us on the first and last day of the trip, it’s his working trip after all. ┐(´_`)┌
This was more of a laid-back trip which we would enjoy the vacation with a relaxed pace, focusing on spontaneity and discovery rather than a pre-planned schedule. The only thing I wanted to do was Thai traditional costume photography and I did some researches and price comparisons, as well as made inquiry after decided which costume rental shop to go for. Please let me know if you’re interested to see the photos. (〃ω〃)
Ari is the neighbourhood that we opted to stay on our first day and we chose to stay at SureStay by Best Western Iconic Ari-Jatujak.
A little introduction of Ari- It’s one of the Bangkok’s trendiest neighbourhoods in recent years, but still relatively undiscovered by visitors. Unlike the chaos of central Bangkok, Ari offers a calmer, greener environment with tree-lined streets, cozy cafés, and boutique lifestyle shops. It has a residential-meets-hipster vibe, where old Thai houses sit side by side with modern condo buildings, Thai street food stalls, and sleek brunch spots. It’s walkable, photogenic, and effortlessly stylish without being pretentious.
The hotel lobby has a boutique-chic atmosphere with natural light streaming through the tall windows. Furnished with vibrant red sofas with colourful cushions and there’s a small cafe sharing the space.
Our Deluxe King Room was rather spacious, equipped with one queen size bed and one king size bed. Adopted a minimalist wood-accented theme and completed with all basic necessities such as TV, coffee and tea making facilities, complimentary drinking water (but I’m not used to the “taste” of the water), mini bar and free Wifi access.
There’s a beanbag, a long working desk cum dressing table (but without a chair =.=”) wardrobe, hangers, safety box, as well as sufficient room for luggage.
The bathroom was decent in size with standard amenities. Cleanliness of both bathroom and room were satisfying, everything was well maintained.
The facilities in hotel includes gym room, outdoor swimming pool and a function room.
Verdict: Location wise, the hotel is nestled in a residential area, near Chatuchak Weekend Market and there are several dining options as well as convenient shops at walking distance. However, the nearest BTS station is 15 minutes walk away from the hotel which we didn’t try on this time because it wasn’t a best option to walk under the scorching weather. (;′0`)
