The Santosa Villas & Resort @ Lombok, Indonesia
Together with my colleagues and their families, we had our 4D3N company trip to Lombok, Indonesia on last December. Since we’ve pre-booked ground arrangement for this trip, our itinerary was well arranged (boring?) which included the accommodation.

We were arranged to stay at The Santosa Villas & Resort nestled in the middle of the busy bustling Senggigi. The location is great with most of the hotels and resorts located at this area and with jetty is just next to the resort definitely earn extra brownie point. Restaurants, pubs and convenient store are just walking distance from the our resort.
Β
The resort lobby is spacious, furnished with many comfy wooden and rattan chairs. The place is tastefully decorated with oil paintings, wooden carving art pieces, gargantuan vase and the potted plant added liveliness to the overall space.
Β
There are seats right beside the main lobby area too completed with simple water features overlooking the lush greenery at the garden. I was pretty impressed by the environment and let’s see if our room echoing the same satisfactory?
Regrettably the superior room we checked in was showing signs of age.The tired looking wall, poor maintained wooden floor and the old designed furniture definitely didn’t lived up to its four stars standard.
Our 33 square meters superior room is furnished with twins bed, not the most comfortable but good enough for a good rest. The bed linen was a bit worn-out though. The room also equipped with air conditioner.
Sofa & coffee table
The old fashioned CRT TV, Sam was happy with her cartoon channels but definitely not the parents >_<. Mini bar in the TV cabinet. The room also equipped with WiFi but the signal is rather poor.
Safety box and indoor slippers.
Coffee and tea making facilities, complimentary bottled drinking water which will be replenished every day.
The real disaster was the bathroom. It was shabby and the scum at the bath tub was unacceptable. The temperature of the water was hard to control too. sigh….
Basic toiletries was provided.
There is a rather spacious balcony with terrace view at our room. Waked by birds chirping was quite a pleasant experience though~
Others room types available are Deluxe Cottage, Deluxe Suite (with or without private pool) & Villa with private pool.
Albeit the pity looking room, we adored the surrounding of the resort with plenty of beautiful landscapes and water features.
It’s pleasant to walk around the property enjoy the greenery, I like the big trees provides adequately shades to the overall compound.
SPA centre.
Our daily breakfast was served at Nusantara Restaurant, an open air restaurant located near the swimming pool. Other restaurant options are Seaside Restaurant offers casual dining featuring Indonesian and International dishes and Gili Lounge that offers variety of beverage and snacks.
Breakfast is basic – both in variety and taste. Please be warned that you may be annoyed by the flies flying around you when dining. Basically Lombok is a place filled with flies, we couldn’t avoid them everywhere we went =.=”
A mini recreation centre with games available such as table tennis, croquet, tennis and badminton.
A huge swimming pool but unfortunately there are no kid’s wading pool.
Right behind the swimming pool is stretch of beach with a lot of fishing boats. The beach was quite dirty with rubbish thrown here and there but the sea view was undoubtedly splendid and breathtaking.
Verdict: I was much dismayed by the room condition and think that this resort is definitely need a refurbishment to compete with other hotels at this area.
