Weekend Getaway ~ Holiday Inn Melaka

A road trip to Melaka in my schools days (I’m very old) used to be a very historical visit. I remember the climb to the famous A Formosa Fort and the brilliantly red-paint of Stadthuys.

Nowadays, you still can do those historical visits but with a lot more choices such as awesome food trails, fabulous options of accommodations and a little bit of bargain hunt at night market.

I have decided to brave the ever increasing traffic at Melaka for a short weekend family getaway. Our first stop is Holiday Inn for the sea view of Melaka. Yes, you can get sea view at Melaka.

Holiday Inn Melaka is the city’s award winning hotel with 275 rooms including suites in a gleaming 20-storey white tower, the strikingly modern hotel is a relaxing base to explore the Portuguese-influenced and UNESCO- listed Heritage city. Located on a stylish waterfront of the Straits of Melaka, it is conveniently next to the city’s main shopping and historical interest places and as well as business and entertainment hub.

The check in counters ~ The check in procedure was a breeze and the gesture of offering light refreshments of muffins and drinks definitely gained an extra brownie point!
