Celebrate your bundle of joy at Ee Chinese Cuisine, Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya. To commemorate this special day, the kitchen team has whipped out a few full moon packages which some of the dishes also available in the wedding specials banquet. Let us have a sneak peek on what they are offering in the menu!
Red Egg
We have an usual starter of red eggs served along with pickled ginger. According to Chinese customs, when a newborn celebrates his or her first full month, one of the most important food to be prepared is the boiled egg which dyed red symbolize luck, good fortune and blessings. Eggs are used because they represent fertility.
4 Happiness Hors D’ouevre
Arrived in a visually stunning presentation, the first course featuring 4 types of cold and hot dishes of Seasoned Baby Octopus, Bacon Rolls, Phyllo with Seafood Rolls and Stir Fried Scallops with Macadamia Nuts.
This is quite a common dish appear in every 4 Happiness, here at Ee we got some sizable baby octopuses submerged in a tangy sauce with lots of crushed peanut and sesame seed which really awakes my appetite.
The Bacon Rolls were moresih with the addictive bacon, nothing will goes wrong when there is bacon with it, agree? While the Phyllo with Seafood Rolls were equally tantalizing, the bouncy seafood paste wrapped with awesome crispy outer, savor one piece is definitely not enough!
Stirred fried fresh scallop with mixed vegetables and Macadamia nuts was light in flavor, showcased the sweetness of the huge fresh scallop and the crunchiness of the vegetables thoroughly.
Gui Fei Farm Chicken
The next poultry dish was a simple steamed chicken with Chinese herbal gravy. Appeared with glowing yellowish skin, the chicken was perfectly done; firm and flavorful flesh and bouncy skin without the scary bits of fats underneath. Served along was the ginger dipping for more distinct flavors.
Dual Combination of Prawns
Another aesthetically pleasant looking dish arrived at our table with an interesting medley of Salad Prawns and Buttered Prawns arranged in a fan shape.
Chilled prawns were dressed in salad dressing laying on bed of diced fruits and topped with fish roe. The prawns were affectionately fresh & sweet with a incredibly firm texture.
Another prawns dish was topped with moreish and fragrant egg floss, I bet this will much welcomed by kids 🙂
Braised Mushrooms with Bean Roots and Top Shells
Consisted of braised mushroom, soft bean roots (dou gan), top shells and broccoli drenched in a light gravy.
Individually Wrapped Mini Glutinous Rice with Chicken, Mushroom & Dried Shrimps in Lotus Leaf
Everyone on the table got a pipping hot little lotus leaf parcel consists of steamed glutinous rice with diced chicken and mushroom filling.
Double-Boiled Nine Treasure Soup
A warm dessert to end the course meal, laden bountifully with dried longans, red date, white fungus, lotus seed, wolfberry, carrot, wintermelon and more. Very soothing indeed after the heavy extravagant dishes 🙂
Ang Koo Kuih
The traditional Chinese pastry literally translated as “Red tortoise cake” with soft sticky glutinous rice flour skin wrapped around a sweet filling in the centre. Considered to be auspicious items, these sweet pastries are especially prepared during important festivals or occasions such as Chinese New Year, wedding or full moon party.
