Restoran Mei Yan @ Taman Paramount
Get to know this from KY, so tempting to try after I saw the photo of the “yut guong hor”, I heard the egg yolk was calling me 😛
Armed with GPS, we were brought to this kopitiam at the corner shop which located at a quiet side of Taman Paramount with most of the shop were closed.
The cooking station located right at the entrance of the shop, managed by an old man and his assistant.
This place was already quite popular judging from the media coverage spotted on the wall.
Indoor seats in typical no frills kopitiam setting and also stretch of tables and chairs placed at the alley beside the restaurant.
Sambal belacan for the extra kick for your noodle~
Yut Guong Hor
I came for this! Look at the raw egg yolk at the center, so enticing! Mix well the raw egg with the noodle and you can start slurping the slippery smooth hor fun. Well braised in dark aromatic soy sauce and laden with the essential PORK LARD, the simple satisfaction!
Lala in Bean Paste Sauce
Another must have item here at Restoran Mei Yan – the lala! You can either choose to have it steamed with superior stock aka Shiong Tong Lala or in sweet and a lil spicy gravy.
Oh Chien (Oyster Omelette)
Generous amount of small oysters was fried with the concoction of egg and tapioca flour batter to golden brown. The proportion of the egg and the starch solution was just nice, I hate my oh chien too gooey/ gummy ~ The accompanied garlic chili sauce was tangy and went well with the omelette.
Verdict: Affordable and food was served incredibly fast, definitely will come back!

Oh No, i think i need to consider seriously before i could actually dig in the noodles together with the RAW egg, i feel so unsafe 😛
Don’t worry, the noodle which still hot will cook the egg when u mix in the raw egg 🙂
